Re: How would I record a guitar into mixcraft 6?

Hi, are you using an interface device into your computer, or just using the computer sound card? If using an interface, just put the guitar into the instrument jack socket and select that input. If using the sound card, you may need an adapter plug as most computers use the small 6.5mm socket as an ...

Re: Garageband effect plug in's?

Hi there, garage band effects work in mixcraft? By memory, I have heard they will, but don't quote me.

Re: Hiss noise when recording

Hi there, from a technical point of view, there will be an impedance mismatch also if the tascam is put into a mic input. If the tascam has a DBX noise reduction, try it with it on. As long as the tape was recorded with DBX, it will help, but if it wasn't, you will lose some high frequencies. At the...

Re: Recording Problem

Hi there, for what it's worth, I was using that exact same computer setup for mixcraft earlier on, and found it to be not up to it really well, especially if you have other stuff on it also. I went for a fairly mild desktop and the difference is staggering. Sorry to be a bearer of bad news, but I co...

Re: Acoustica VB3 versus Technics

Hi all, after reading Micks post, noted that the VB3 has inbuilt distortion. A few days ago when I first tried it, I thought I was over driving something, so left it be. My question is, can the distortion be switched off to a clean sound, as that is more to my liking, after all, anyone that wants it...

Re: Interesting Video of how things used to be...

Hi all, yes, I dont think we or anyone else will ever get the natural sound quality from digital that analogue used to give. Once you put an analogue signal into a digital system, it never comes out the other end with the same warmth....quite maybe, and all compressed with all the effects that you c...

Re: Smooth electric sound

Hi all, decided to try the electric through my little Behringer tube pre amp MIC200, and got a much warmer smoother sound from that. For something that cost me only 60 bucks, it is a very big improvement in the sound quality. Easy to set up a half decent overdrive......2 knobs, and the different eq s...

Re: Smooth electric sound

Thanks to all for the replies. I am using the Line 6 UX2 interface into Mixcraft with either a Japanese built Ibanez Roadstar "strat style'' or a Fender Squire Tele. The Ibanez has a great sound, very versatile guitar with a rear humbucker. The Squire is an ok guitar with the usual weakness in ...

Smooth electric sound

Hi all, being looking to get a nice smooth guitar distortion sound in Mixcraft. I know there is a mile of different settings in there, but it's good to get other players opinions on it. What I am after is that almost ''violin sound'' if it is possible, such as the sound the likes of Gary Moore, and ...

Re: Try this acoustic guitar plugin

Hi all, tried to use this freebie, but am running into problems with it. Am not all that familiar with computers so that doesn't help either. Managed to download the lite version. Installed it to VST folder. Open Mixcraft 6 and error "cannot run this application because MSVCP100.dll cannot be f...

Build update

Hi all, seeing that I am still using build 162 for Mixcraft 6, thought it best to update it. Don't laugh out loud there......haven't been able to use it because of a house move. When I do the check for updates, it takes me to the download site, but my question is, do I have to download the full prog...

Virtual Instruments and midi probs

Hi all, when using Mixcraft's virtual instruments, driven from my midi keyboard, it all works great except for when I make a change to the keyboards internal settings, it also changes the virtual instrument that I have selected in Mixcraft. I like to send the keyboards normal sound into Mixcraft via...
