Re: Where to place an outboard compressor.

Hi there, I would consider your first way as being correct, compressor should always go at the end of the chain. If you compress before your mixer, your tone controls will have a reduced effect on the signal. I would the take it that you wont be doing too much within the Mixcraft mixer on mixdown, a...

Re: Cakewalk clamouring for air supremacy

Have to agree about the DP02, I rushed out and bought one, thinking that it would be easier for me, coming up from pro tape machines/consoles. Wow, what a mistake that was, the effects had to be recorded with the track, or all you had the choice of was a simple reverb at the main mix....? could neve...

Re: Studio Monitors

You could open a can of worms with this one, but the best advise from someone who has been around analogue studios for years, buy the best that you can with the dollars you have. I am currently using a set of 6'' Samsons, and a set of 4'' Haflers, just so that I can get a balance between bottom end ...

Re: Midi pitch change.

Thank you both, yes, that's exactly what I am trying to do. The only prob is, my earlier tracks are not digital instruments, but just guitars, and I don't think the pitch on them can be changed after they are recorded? To play in keys other than "C" on a keyboard, is not so easy for a guit...

Midi pitch change.

Sorry to repeat myself, but still have probs with this. What I am trying to do is change the pitch of the virtual instruments, as I play them via a midi keyboard. Is this possible to do, as it is played in real time, or can I only change the pitch after the track is recorded? I know you can change t...

Re: Transposing virtual instrument

Thanks for that, but do we have to transpose after the track is recorded, and not as you play it on the midi keyboard? I see you can transpose at the bottom of the virtual instrument section, but it only does it in octaves, not semi tones. Regards. Geoff

Transposing virtual instrument

Hi all, can we transpose a virtual instrument, say a tenor sax, as we play it onto a track? When I go to transpose, it will do it, but not in semi tones, but in octaves. I just want to go up or down a couple of semi's, as I play best in the key of ''C''......yes, dont all guitar players, when confro...

Midi input to Mixcfraft

Hi all, got the virtual instruments working, by using my old Lamda interface which has midi inputs on it. I cant believe my new Line 6 UX2 does not have them, in this day of digital instruments. Problem I have though, is my latency is not so great with the older Lambda unit. That was the main reason...

Midi input to mixcraft

Hi all, would like to try out the virtual instruments, and drive them from my midi keyboards. Problem is, I am using a Pod ux2 interface, which does not have the usual 5 pin midi din socket input on it. I also have an older Lamda unit that does have midi on it, but would rather use the newer one, ma...

Re: Mixcraft download.

Thanks Greg, wouldn't mind getting the box version then, to save me any hassles, but I've recently paid for the download version. Would I get any discount if I was to purchase the boxed one now? Regards. Geoff

Mixcraft download.

Hi all, when Mixcrfaft is downloaded, does it come with all the loops complete, or do they have to be downloaded separately, either at call, or in a full dump? Regards. Geoff

Re: Mixcraft sound library.

Hi all again, loaded all the loop library onto my usb stick and tried to load them into Mixcraft on my studio computer that is not usually on the web. Cant seem to load them though, I get the message that no loops were imported. I select the correct item location to download from, being my usb devic...

Re: Mixcraft sound library.

Thanks heaps again, thats what I wanted to hear. I wonder If I could download them to a stick, on another computer (which is always on the web), or would I have to download the full Mixcraft program, with all the library files included? If I could load them to a stick, and simply add that to Mixcraf...

Re: Mixcraft sound library.

Thanks for that, I would assume then, that you have to download each section at a time, that there is no "full dump" of the complete library? Regards. Geoff
