Re: Disable input velocity curves

Do you have the manual ? The English section is literally only a quarter of a page long. Not a very hard read at all! In the "Making Detailed Settings" section it reads, "The following settings cannot be edited from the microKEY itself, so you’ll need to use the Korg Kontrol Ed...

to this day I haven't been able to get that vst to work right. only one preset works & all the rest including the NY compression are mute when engaged. :?
Hmmm. They work for me just fine.

Re: Parallel Compression on Mixcraft 6

Or if you want to be lazy about it, just get a compressor that has the feature built in. http://bedroomproducersblog.com/2010/11/10/bpb-freeware-studio-best-free-sidechain-compressor-vst-plugins/ :D Oh, yeah! That reminds me - the Terry West free plugins . There's a NY Compressor VST there.

Re: Parallel Compression on Mixcraft 6

I believe you'd leave the original audio dry, at least as far as compression goes. Greg is absolutely right. And you probably only want to use compression and eq on the duplicate track, no reverb. But you mix and use effects on the original drum track just like you might do normally, so a little co...

Re: Parallel Compression on Mixcraft 6

So, to sum up the advice above... "New York" drum compression: 1) create a send or copy of a track 2) compress the send or copy heavily 3) subtly mix in that compressed track with the original You can use a send track, a duplicated track, a bounced track... Here's a decent summary article ...

Re: overlaying multiple clips on 1 track question

In Mixcraft 6, you can right-click on the track header and choose "Mix To New Audio Track" to bounce to a new file and import into a new track all in one step. The bounced track will be in your project folder.

Re: The Mixcraft Import Function

I agree that the filename of the loop would be the most appropriate name to use, or maybe have that option in a column? Sounds like a feature request. :D Anyway, what's happening is that Mixcraft is using the "Title" field in the files tags to populate that name in the loop library. If the...

Re: Question about playing guitar with one finger

I am a guitar teacher and I have to say, all is not lost! Open tunings make it easier to play chords with only two fingers. Also, I think one key will be to play fingerstyle, rather than trying to use a lot of strumming. You can play minor chords (and plenty of other chord types) in open G or any op...

Re: Latency when using fx

If you have not done so already, check out the "Optimizing your PC for Mixcraft" thread here, there are some really good tips throughout. Ah, yes! I forgot about that. It's a sticky thread at the top of the Mixcraft forum, but here's a direct link to that thread. And here's a direct link ...

Re: CPU C3/C6 support - disable?

I think so too, that's what I've read. But I'm not sure what exactly should I check/try to notice the difference. Any idea? You can make a new project and start adding tracks and effects. When you get to a point where you start to notice glitches, re-save that project. Then restart your computer, d...

Re: CPU C3/C6 support - disable?

Actually, disabling C-states should improve performance. C3/C6 support is not for getting "full capacity" from processors, rather it allows for shutting down and throttling cores as a power saving feature - not usually helpful for audio computers. The time it takes for a cores to wake up c...

Re: Latency when using fx

Here's what is happening: when you direct monitor from the interface you hear just what you are putting into it without going into your pc and back out; when you use fx and monitor Mixcraft's output your pc has to process the sound in between - thus latency. You'll want to lower the latency through ...

Re: Don't look now...

The other thing about that little bar is that it acts as a handle to grab a clip without setting a pivot point or starting a selection. So, there'd be some things to work out, but thanks for the suggestion! The way I've seen it handled is the pointer can be changed in the track area to edit, select...

Re: Don't look now...

Can we get an interface option to remove the darker, smaller bar at the top of each waveform / midi and instead use the entire track height for the waveform? +1 Just have the clip name displayed directly on top of the clip rather than in its' own area - like many other DAW's. Would have to develop ...
