Re: How can I do this de-essing trick on MC8?

Hi, You can turn the volume down on the copied vocal track, and on the side chain input of the compressor use that track as the source, but use it ' prefader '. This will give you the signal to the side chain input, and with track volume turned down no signal to th master track. In the mixer view, n...

Re: How can I do this de-essing trick on MC8?

Hi, The solo instrument can also be heard. What the ducking did was turned down the other instruments in that section of the piece when the solo instrument was playing. This is similar to a narrator speaking in a documentary. When the narrator starts speaking, the background music or sounds, reduce ...

Re: How can I do this de-essing trick on MC8?

Hi, I had a piece where I had one solo instrument control the levels of other instruments in that section of the piece. This process is called ducking. The sound of the solo instrument turns down the other instruments when it is playing. The solo instrument controller the compressor. I used a compre...

Re: Is it worth it? And why?

Hi, I am a user since version 8. It was very easy to learn. Has features that more expensive DAW's have. Comes with good plug-in tools, and virtual instruments. It accepts third party plug-ins, and virtual instruments. The Acoustica support is great. The teaching videos are a great way to learn the ...

Re: Studio Pictures

Hi, good morning. That is a second snare drum, with the drum magazine on it. What I was trying to show was the space of the area. When I took the picture of the keyboards with the mixer in view, I was standing next to that snare drum. The other half of the space is where my computer, Leslie, and wor...

These are different views of my studio space. Some of the rack mounted pieces of equipment I designed and built. Two eight channel balanced line level mixers, headphone distribution amp, with two stereo inputs, and four independent outputs, and a four input preamp with RCA inputs and XLR outputs. Al...

Re: Need a hand converting a files

Hi, Are you video files you made your video from stored on your computer? I made a video, and had my video clips on a usb drive. I tried to render, but I had taken out the thumb drive and gave me an issue, that was resolved when I but it back in. ( https://youtu.be/rQCCBerr37U ) I rendered to MP4, a...

Re: Question on system

Hi,
I use a i5 quad core cpu, with 64bit Windows 10, and 16g RAM. My signature shows more details on my computer.
It runs good for me. No problems with large track counts. I even made a video using Mixcraft without issues. ( https://youtu.be/rQCCBerr37U )
I think I have an ASUS mother board.

Hi,
When I made my video I added a still picture at the end. I saved to MP4. It played in the Windows media player fine, and on YouTube.

Hi, The Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 third gen is listed at $499.99usd at Sweetwater. I have the second gen model, and it has worked great for me. I have used it to record drums with eight microphones. It has 8 XLR / TRS combo connectors. Two on the front and six on the back. The two front connectors ar...
