Re: New forum members

THIS, Exactly. 8) Simplest would be that upon joining, a "new member" is only allowed one post (instead of 54 like we How we do it at https://vi-control.net/community/ , is that new members are not allowed to post URLs in their first post and signature, and they don't have access to privat...

Re: Mixcraft included izotope mastering essentials - same as elements?

No, not the same at all. The bundled iZotope Masterng FX included with Mixcraft Pro Studio are old, 32-bit only processors. It would be forgivable if they were at least 64 bit, but being so old, and not natively 64 bit, makes them a fast, hard pass for me.

Re: Saxophone effects - MIDI?

All SampleModeling and AudioModelling VIs work well in Mixcraft. AudioModeling’s SWAM saxophones are really, really, really good!

Re: Muddy Mix - Photo Attached

A generally accepted “Best Practice” is to cut the mud on each individual track - not just throw an EQ on the whole shebang. Usually, muddy frequencies build up in the 250 - 560 Hz range. For example, if you have a couple of keyboard tracks and two or three guitar tracks, etc, it’s usually (not alwa...

Re: Petty Peve About DAWs Interface

While this is default Windows behaviour, it should not be simply blamed as a “Windows Issue”. Studio One and Samplitude do not have this problem, no matter which plugin or VI window is active on the screen. I don’t recall Cakewalk nor Reaper suffering from this default Windows behaviour either. That...

Re: POWER USAGE WINDOWS 10

Focusrite USB interfaces are ok for inexpensive sound cards, but I highly recommend another brand when/if you can. The 2i2 is pretty inexpensive so you’re not out $400 or $500 ... For around the same money, an ESI 22XT is a dandy, simple interface. Rock solid drivers and extremely low latency. ESI U...

Re: Which DAW mixers are working with Mixcraft?

Stay tuned, please! Over the next couple of months, I’ll be reviewing these very units. First impressions are super positive and very promising. They work great with Mixcraft Pro Studio 8 — using standard Mackie protocol. I just recently bought Mixcraft 8 Pro Studio. I decided that I want to buy a s...

Re: Can't route midi from VST inst to VST fx on same trk.

Hi TomH. Would you mind describing what you did, exactly, to enable the TR5 Leslie midi? Would be much appreciated. :) OK, I figured it out. There is a drop down box under automation that gives me the option of the TR5 leslie. Had to scroll way down and select TR5>Fast/slow switch>midi learn. 'Hope ...

Re: Brass VSTs

Hands down, without contest, THE BEST solo sax VIs are the samplemodelling & SWAM offerings. Chris Hein Horns Pro are exceptional, but the Compact is a really nice, great-sounding, size manageable, and usable horn library. As a matter of fact, I tend to reach for compact *before the full Pro lib...

Re: Slate Digital Plugins Crashing

This may or may not be relevant, and I don't know what OS you're on, but the Lexicon website doesn't show any product support past Windows 7 for the products you mentioned. Read OP. I state my OS. ;) You’re correct in that Win 10 isn’t specifically mentioned on the Lex site, just Windows 64 bit (ge...

Re: Slate Digital Plugins Crashing

Although it is far from an ideal solution, I have found a work-a-round that seems to have put the issue to rest. Instead of using the most current ( and functional ) version of Lexicon LXP Reverb bundle, I've started using an old build - v1.1.1.9. This installer dates back to 2011 and unfortunately ...

Slate Digital Plugins Crashing

I'm using the latest builds of Slate's VTM, VCC, and VMR. I can instantiate the plugins to a project and they work - until I try to reload said project. If I save the work, and attempt to reopen the file, Mixcraft crashes. I am not using VST3 versions . Win 10 x64 - 1703 - optimized for pro-level au...
