Re: hard drive cloning
Cloning is not really recommended when moving from one machine to another. All the hardware will be different -- so as soon as you boot it up it has to reconfigure/seek out new drivers, etc.... So it's certainly not as straightforward as when you clone a drive that would remain in the same system or...

Re: Mixcraft 7 crashing on mixdown
...When I use too many complex instruments (i.e. stuff from Kontakt and whatnot), I'm unable to mix down a song without the program crashing on me..... The more complex the MIDI instruments, the more resources required for processing (This is true with ANY DAW). Best practice is to print the larger...

Re: Mixcraft 8 Audio Track bugged
Seems like something has gotten corrupted in that track. It could be just a part of it, or the whole thing. Have you tried copying the track contents to another track or project? If it's okay after that, then problem solved. If not, you may have to redo the track. It's up to you on how much time you...

You can use your computer's QWERTY keyboard. Explained here:

Re: Mixcraft 9 Pro Studio and Kontakt 6 Sound Difference
I know next to nothing about wind controllers, so can't help on the settings.
Can you try a different controller, like a keyboard (piano-type or QWERTY) and see if it still sounds different?

Re: Mixcraft 9 Pro Studio and Kontakt 6 Sound Difference
There shouldn't be a sound difference between the two.
The obvious question is, are you sure you have MC Pro at default settings with no effects applied?

Re: STEINBERG UR242 INTO MIXCRAFT
Also, it seems the ur242 comes with an AC adapter (though the unit can run bus-powered). If you don't have the AC-adapter plugged in, try that.
Or, if you're using AC power, try it bus-powered instead.

Re: STEINBERG UR242 INTO MIXCRAFT
.. I read in some of the forums that the 242 is tailored to suit the Cubase DAW, more so than other makes, so I might just unload it and get another Behringer... There should be no difference in sound between the interfaces. Steinberg (Yamaha) makes some of the best hardware out there. I've certain...

Re: Dual display monitors
Just to be clear, your monitor has one unused HDMI input (TWO HDMI inputs total), correct? You could add a PCIe graphics card with an HDMI output to the Dell. (Or add a card with two HDMI outs and use those ports exclusively). Alternatively, just buy a different model monitor, with a DisplayPort inp...

Re: How to get the new build 468
Did you read the instructions in Greg's link? You can download the full v468 installer from your acoustica account.
You "should" be able to install it over your existing program. If it doesn't work, just do an uninstall, then install the new build.

Re: Vocal Mic Needed
Do you have a proper audio interface with XLR inputs? If not, then your options are limited and you'll probably have to get a USB microphone. With an audio interface, you can use a more professional microphone. I strongly recommend you do some research on microphone types/Buying your first microphon...

Re: Acronis ROCKS
..... The one I settled on is Macrium Reflect . It backups and restores system images flawlessly and, oh yeah, it's FREE.... I just want to add that, whatever you use, you should verify that a backup solution actually works (assuming you have a desktop and capability to temporarily swap out the boo...

Re: Acronis ROCKS
Any reliable Backup imaging software is great (and strongly recommended) for every PC user. I'd say it's easily the most indispensable software on my system. In fact, I've been relying on software imaging apps for a longtime (about 20 years). I started with Norton Ghost, moved to Acronis True Image....

Re: How can I set my octa capture so that I either hear on my headphone or my studio speakers?
thank you, but then this can switch between 3.5mm headphones/speakers. But how can I switch between yamaha hs monitors connected to octacapture and my headphone attached again to my octacapture? thank you No. You would need to have the monitors and headphones connected to the switch/controller box....
