Re: Wolf is waiting with scatch vox
Well we are closer on the snare 8) . This piece makes me want to float rather than tap my foot. That's what pulled me when the rhythm started to come together. I was and will probably continue to not follow any playbook for the mixture of instrumentation or style. Just letting it flow as it comes. I...

Re: Wolf is waiting with scatch vox
Mark thanks again for your comments, always appreciated. It's cool if you "don't get it". I started writing this on acoustic in open g driving thru Tennessee. Originally I heard it as maybe just guitar, vox and foot stomp. Then felt like maybe a “swampy” thing like Tony Joe White ( hoodoo ...

About to put this out in social media. Any last opinions... glaring issues, pops, noise, etc. My ears may be deceiving me?

Love the tapestry of the arraignment and the subtle movement of voices thru the stereo spectrum. Nice collaboration gentlemen.

Re: something new & heavy
Good recording, clear and clean. Just feel like it needs to go somewhere, maybe a nice whitesnake synth bridge?

Re: Vocal Compressor
Check out http://therecordingrevolution.com/. When I started using a DAW I had the tendancy to use the same rules I used back in the analog days. Trying to find that magical level as close to 0 as possible. But with a DAW you should generally be - 8 or -10 on incoming audio. Seemed foreign to me at ...

Re: Wolf is waiting with scatch vox
Thanks for the feedback, especially related to vox. It's only been recently that I have felt comfortable enough to place them more upfront in the mix. A little crazy considering I've been a vocalist in many groups. I'll play with drums and lay down final vocals soon. With what I've learned in...

Re: Wolf is waiting with scatch vox
Mark I did not feel your feedback was snarky, just wanted clarity. Nothing taken personally. We all have different taste. My reference for this was Chris Whitley's work on his album "Din" And is intended to be a pop format with edginess to transmit the insanity in the lyrical journey. I do...
