New to Music Production? Check out this free Berklee course
Hi all, I just wanted to say thank you to all who mentioned this course in the past, and let some of the people who may not have seen it mentioned know about the course... It's a free 6 week online course and, man, it's totally opened me up to the functionality available in Mixcraft. I never would h...

Re: Mixcraft 7 suggestions?
Becuz I lub the keeboord. No, really. I use keyboard shortcuts a lot more often than I do the GUI buttons, especially when it comes to playback controls. Keyboard shortcuts are great for programs I use all the time. Unfortunately, this is but a hobby for me (at least until I become famous thanks to...

Re: Mixcraft 7 suggestions?
May I utter the wish for a subjective improvement for manual gain riding. When I balance the level of a track, I like to unburden the compressor (particularly if the action range is too big for a compressor) by manually adjusting the clip volume (through automation points.) Moving automation points...

Re: Mixcraft 7 suggestions?
Effects browser by category. I currently helped myself by renaming the vst´s, with prefixes like - "reverb - xy.dll". But not all dll´s seem to let you do that unfortunately. I find myself scrolling permanently through an endless list of vst´s with meaningless names and no structure. BTW,...

Re: Mixcraft 7 suggestions?
Gain riding revisited. I do a lot of manual gain riding by using automation lines. Very often a section has to be boosted resp. attenuated evenly. It becomes quite boring and cumbersome to set four points every time, zoom in to align them for smallest transition, shift+move the line and zoom out ag...

Re: Mixcraft 7 suggestions?
Since the list goes on, (and on....) Heres another thing I would like to see: A simple method of inverting one channel of a stereo track and switching to mono for phase correllation testing. I know some other DAW's and some plug-ins have this feature, maybe someone has an idea for clean implementat...
Re: DAWs
... I am not a fan of Pro Tools. It is expensive to buy, expensive to keep up to date, and doesn't have some features found in less expensive software. But like it or not, it is the de facto standard in the pro audio world. But if you don't have a need to trade files with other studios, use anythin...

Re: Synchronize Computer
I see you've started lots of threads here on this subject. Probably be better off if you at least reference your other threads so users can get a complete picture of what you are trying to do. To really help you, we need to know EXACTLY what you are doing. Otherwise, people are going to make assumpt...

Re: Interface Selection
I recently purchased my first audio interface after a lot of research. I was originally thinking I wanted to spend as little as possible for a decent quality interface, so I was looking for probably a 2 input interface. At first I, after a lot of study of the various inexpensive interfaces, I was th...

Re: Mixcraft 7 suggestions?
Actually most CAD programs use the middle mouse button to move an item. Does Mixcraft use the middle mouse button? not on laptops it doesn't :-P My laptop does (HP Elitebook 8560w). Plus all my old Dell's had middle mouse button's on them, too... Edit: Oh, wait, did you mean that Mixcraft does not ...

Re: Mixcraft 7 suggestions?
When scrolling through the track window (sideways) I find myself repeatedly trying to use the right mousebutton to make that hand appear that grabs the window and moves it. I must know this from the CAD programs I use. This would be a great feature. -helmut wouldn't this effectively remove the righ...

Re: Quick question on song key
I imagine he can think of it like using a capo on a guitar, and then writing the chords as if it were being played at the first fret? So a notated Em is actually a Gm if the capo is on the third fret. A very common practice when writing guitar tabs.
