See if all of your video driver/s are up to date, I've seen issues like that before that were fixed by updating drivers.

Windows audio settings are in System > Sound > More sound settings. Make sure asio device is default and settings match in Properties > Advanced.

For the record, I've never had an issue with EZD 2 or 3 and I use them a lot. I'm sure you'll find the cause, hopefully a simple fix.

Gotcha. BTW, I have a Sager Laptop, it's been nothing but great the last 3 years. i7-10750, 32gb ram, ssd+hdd, it's handled everything I've thrown at it. I'll definitely look at getting another one when the time comes, sometimes you can get great deals on Amazon.

If these VC++ runtimes are required by MX, their installation or update be part of the MX installation? Many programs use C++, many.
