Re: How do I make my recordings sound good through speakers?
You asked the 1Million $$$ question :D What are "good" headphones for mixing, as mentioned before, may sound sterile for listening to music. For those little mp3 players to sound good at pretty low power they have to fiddle with the frequency range. Usually an unnatural bass boost. Imagine...

Re: Trim plugin
Helmut, can you educate me on this? Have you seen this video ? What they do, they have built a mechanism into their DAW that allows you to gain manipulate a clip, meaning it can work on a part of a track. This approach has also the benefit to make a visual change to the waveform along with the zoom...

Re: Trim plugin
This is the poor man´s equivalent to linking faders. Some DAWs allow to do that. Mike Senior suggests a gain plugin or equivalent control on any channel´s input, so that the fader remains at about zero, where its greatest resolution resides. Some probably never noticed that the resolution of the sli...

Re: Trim plugin
What you have seen is Pro Tools´ clip gain feature. I requested this functionality a couple of times. Let´s see if they incorporated it. While gain plugins like the one you mentioned d o work, they do not show a boosted version of the track display. With a fairly low signal you end up still seeing n...

Re: Youlean Loudness Meter - FREE Plugin
Hi, your program has some professional features I have not seen in freeware yet. Congrats for this alone (but not limited to that). Such as: being able to look at the past signal history. Some of the pro´s have this, but then if the history is disappearing in too small a window this is not much usef...
Re: Asio
If I understand you right you are trying to output to a different audio unit than you use for recording, such as the system audio. If you installed the Focusrite´s ASIO packet, then you should see all I/Os the Focusrite has. Unfortunately, selecting the Focusrite ASIO driver excludes the rest of the...

K-Meter updated
This subject probably drowned in the other thread... K-Meter (the free version) has been updated to Vers. 2.6.1. This release works on 64 bits too, but most importantly, has a loudness measurement according to ITU BS.1770-1 loudness weighted levels (you can still use RMS metering). This has been dev...

Re: which video format is best?
You can also render in .avi and then use any video converter to convert your file into a format that suits you. It always depends what you want to do with it later. Ideally, Mixcraft should give you an option, because not only the output formats are very limited, but also the input formats. There is...

Re: which video format is best?
AVI is generally uncompressed (...). WMV is compressed. Unfortunately I have to kindly disagree. AVI is a container format, containing audio and video streams. In so far it basically does not differ from WMV. It is a matter of the used CODEC (COde / DECode) software how it is compressed. There is n...
