Re: Kontakt 5 problem
Here's something to try: First of all duplicate your project just in case....... Install a later version of Kontakt 5 (try to remember which you were using pre-problem as after 5.3 each version comes with its own set of bugs). Keep 6. You'll want it for any future Kontakt installations. Load your pr...

Re: "Get the most realistic sounds from your samples"
I stopped about 3 min into the first video. Guess it's time for my annual vsti timbre rant. Usually I save it fo r the VI forums, but this year Acoustica gets to have it  Speaking as a retired horn player with over 50 years of professional orchestral experience and as an instructor who taug...

Re: Video issues (Mixcraft 7)
I have never used the publish option in Mixcraft. What I do is render the video, then upload that rendered video to YouTube. Works fine.

Re: Orchestral VSTs
Symphonic is an older library. It has wet samples. I think it was recorded by the Seattle Symphony and has some samples by orchestral gods, solo trumpet in particular. The upside is the lush sound right out of the box, the downside is you are pretty much stuck with the sound. Great for purely orches...

Re: Orchestral VSTs
Are you sure the statement wasn't directed at those ppl who quickly use his demos without buying? It's all on this page (or sub pages), tell us what you think, I could be wrong https://www.kirkhunterstudios.com/support/ Those clauses have been there forever. What he wants is a credit if you have cr...

Re: Orchestral VSTs
Hi, Whilst I absolutely respect anything ChiBear has to say on the subject, I do not respect Kirk Hunter, whose threats upon purchase that anyone who uses their sample libraries has to credit them and that they search the internet for evidence of the use of their libraries by anyone who doesn't cre...

Re: Orchestral VSTs
First of all I'd stay away from DSK unless they finally got their act together. I had masses of grief trying to work with their instruments. It turns out, according to a coder friend of mine, the coding is extremely sloppy. GPO has some wonderful instruments and some complete dogs. Miroslav 2 is way...

Re: Bass guitar plugins (Trilian?)
I don't have Trilian, but fwiw I have Spectrosonic's Omnisphere 1 and it works very well in Mixcraft.

Re: Tambourines
My go to tambourine is the one that comes in the NI Kontakt factory orchestra library. The full version of Kontakt opens a world of cheap, free, or just downright great libraries up to you. Watch for their sales.
Re: envelope
It's been so long since I've worked in 7, I can't say for sure but I believe 7&8 are pretty much identical in that area. 6 is way back and out of my memory. You are not all that clear about what you want. You can "drop dots" on 8, just as you could in 7 (and if I can remember right all...

Re: Master Fader
GUILTY! (because I'm lazy  ) If you have listened to my stuff you know the wide dynamic range I work with. Even though none of the tracks or even instruments are near clipping, with the larger orchestra tuttis the master will creep into the red, so the master gets turned down. Only downside I'...

Re: Ear Buds For Mixing?
One of our OFC members (can't remember who: OFC  ) uses "a box of earbuds" to check his mixes. However that creates another problem. I usually check my mixes on an audiophile system, the car stereo, and the local senior's club sound system plus others as available. Problem is the mix ...

Re: Mixcraft Suggestions!
+1 to Dale's post. Time, money, and effort is more properly spent on filling the holes in Mixcraft's functionality as a DAW rather than trying to make it a 'Jack of all trades' piece of software. To edit videos use a video editor, then import it into Mixcraft for scoring. (I would even go as far as ...
