Re: Audio Skipping - not DAW related?
I have all my libraries on SSDs other than my C drive too; as a matter of fact Mixcraft is also on another drive as well as any other software I can install not on C. This frees C to do only OS stuff. I upgraded my C drive about a year ago and paid a few extra $ to have the tech clone old C to new C...

Re: Audio Skipping - not DAW related?
You didn't put the specs of your drive(s) in your sig. Your previous Windows problem and your other symtoms would suggest to me that maybe your OS drive is either nearing full or about to go belly up. Just a thought.

Re: The WORST feature in Mixcraft is.........
OK so if the OP insists on sticking to the present setup and workflow, what would be wrong with a brickwall limiter on the master bus which would be deactivated just before final mixdown? I've seen this recommended elsewhere for people concerned about hearing damage.

Re: Building REALLY cheap test speakers
A friend of mine put 2 quads in a movable rack/channel and had 15" Tannoys to fill out the bass. Personally I thought the Tannoys were over kill as he had to turn them way down, plus no matter how he played with it the crossover was apparent. This was about 1976 so maybe with today's hardware i...

Re: Not Another Free Plugin Thread
The term "Best" even among the pros is highly subjective. For a start, though, here are some places to look: http://www.soundsonline.com http://www.orchestraltools.com https://www.vsl.co.at/en http://www.chrishein.net/web/Willkommen.html https://www.spitfireaudio.com/ As you can see, they ...

Re: Kontakt standalone rewired to MC8? (or other workaround)
Not at my DAW right now, but pretty sure I'm using 5.5.2 in Mixcraft 8 without incident. Like you, don't want to upgrade beyond that. Later I'll post the actual build. Can't answer the rewire question, though.

Re: Skin
You can tweek the color on a lot of things in the mixskin.ini file, at your peril of course, so backup the original before playing.

Re: I have some questions about mixcraft's MIDI
There are a few of us that have been campaigning for an overhaul of the MIDI editor since version 5 (maybe some before?) The fact of the matter is time gained with Mixcraft's easy-to-use interface and easy routing is totally negated by its antiquated MIDI editor as illustrated in this thread. Add to...

Building REALLY cheap test speakers
We all want to test our mixes on as many systems as possible before publishing. Here is a very cheap way to add another sonic opinion before burning that first test CD. I've been interested in flat panel speakers for decades, ever since I heard my first pair of Quads. A couple of months ago I came u...

Re: Won't put bar markers in alignment with clips
Ha! That is really odd. I also tried deleting the 7/8 marker and reinserting it in the proper place. No go there either. Mixcraft insisted on inserting it way earlier. Most likely a bug IMO.

Did you by any chance save your project after things went wonky (been there, done that ) ? If so maybe one of the backups might be working better.

Hmmmm "This item does not ship to Canada" At that price would have been worth a try.

Re: Virtual instrument notes dropping out in audio mixdown
Hi, sounds like your hard drive isn't keeping up. Try either freezing your tracks or mixing each track down to wave before doing your final mixdown.
