Vocal Doubler

I just came across this, if anyone's interested. It's a free vocal doubler plugin from Izotope. I've not tried it so don't know how good it is, but I've included links below to some demonstration videos. https://www.izotope.com/en/products/mix/vocal-doubler.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOYW2...

Re: MT Power Drums 2

Close-miked samples tend to sound like pathetic little clicks, whereas it's the 'Room' or ambient sound that gives the usable results. Doing the drums through a multi-out sample player such as Omni-Player using more natural sounds, such as those from the Acoustica drumkits, is not only far simpler, ...

Re: MT Power Drums 2

Live performance drum kits are close mic’ed with the exception of the overhead mic’s. That depends on the size of building where the performance is being held. I remember reading about a famous drummer -I don't recall who exactly - but when the engineers surrounded his drumkit with close mic...

Re: MT Power Drums 2

I'm curious. Why do you have to use Omni Sampler??? Why can you not just add the effects straight to the Acoustica drums etc.??? I ask the above because I really don't know and I've seen this same thing being mentioned before but I've never understood why or what Omni Sampler is about. It wouldn't ...

Re: MT Power Drums 2

Yesterday I decided to try a different route that has been in the back of my mind for some time. I made audio samples of my preferred components (snare, kick, toms, crash cymbal, open & closed hi-hat) from the Acoustica drumkits and loaded them into Omni Sampler with the 8 outs. I mapped the com...

Re: MT Power Drums 2

I had no problems installing the software by slowly and carefully following these instructions: https://stevenslatedrums.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360011778653-SSD5-Free-Win-Installation . However, there was an issue with the fact that there was initially no sound, but that was solved by this vi...

Re: MT Power Drums 2

Just a further comment with regard to the free version of Steven Slate SSD5 Drums. With regard to the snare, I've managed to improve it tremendously by tuning it down and applying the Pultronic EQ110P to the Room, all of which gives it a bigger 'rock' sound. I'm now really impressed! I've removed th...

Re: MT Power Drums 2

Try the Steven Slate SSD5 freebie. It's only one drum set but the sound is fantastic. Bit of caution though, it is a bit difficult to install. :D I've just been playing around with this and it is pretty good and easy to set up. My quibble is yet again with the snare and weak crash cymbals. I manage...

Re: MT Power Drums 2

Crossed posts Ian, He isn't loading different sounds as far as I can tell. Just harvesting the grooves and routing the MIDI to other VSTi (Now crossed posts with Tom) That's how I see it as well. It may be possible. But is it worth the fuss? Right. I appear to have misunderstood what the video was ...

Re: Mixing in mono (to start)

I always use DFX Monomaker for switching to mono. The good thing about it is that it's nothing fancy, and is also useful for narrowing individual tracks that are affecting mono compatibility in mixes.

Re: MT Power Drums 2

Neither. I want to replace the sounds of the components of the drumkit with something better, and at 4:43 the narrator of the video proceeds to show how this is done, but I can't follow his explanation, largely because he's not doing it within Mixcraft. I'm even wondering if what he's doing is trans...

MT Power Drums 2

I've discovered that it's possible to assign different sounds to the free MT Power Drums 2 vsti, thanks to the video below. However, at 4:43, where the narrator explains how to do it in a different DAW, I'm left perplexed. From the explanation, can anyone tell me if this procedure can be performed i...

Re: GSnap Pitch Correction MC8: question.

Not even Antares Autotune has a setting for blues scale, but it does allow the user to edit scales to achieve it - or pentatonic and any any one you want, but it comes at a high retail price of course.

Some Mixcraft users are always in a hurry to spend their money on a software upgrade.
