Re: How does a MIDI file know what sound to play?

Hi & welcome to the forum.

Unless your kit supports USB Audio, then unfortunately, you can't . You could try the headphone / line out and record them as an audio track.

Re: My first Mixcraft song

I enjoyed that. Refreshingly different and I agree with Dave, there are definite Kraftwerk influences.

No professionals that I'm aware of, just keen amateurs who enjoy making music rather than trying to work out how to use complicated Daw's ;)

Re: Question about plug in collection

I'm not sure how you're organizing your plug-ins .. Updating MC shouldn't affect any folders or their contents so maybe just a rescan is required

Re: Good interface to buy

I'm not sure how good the interface side of it is but I own and older Zoom 707 ii and have found it very good. This is the latest version which looks quite good ... http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Zoom-G3X-Guitar-Multi-Effects-Pedal-And-USB-Audio-Interface/MYU?origin=product-ads&utm_ca...

Re: Last question/thread for now...

I have also thought about this. There are 4 basic sections to an orchestra: Percussion, Strings, Reeds.Woodwinds, and Brass. Sorry but that made me chuckle    An inspirational piece that still takes me back to primary school is Peter And The Wolf https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfM7Y...

And a very nice 'go' you gave it.
As long as you can have fun with the basics, it should inspire you to delve deeper under the bonnet. A theory which certainly works for Mixcraft.
I look forward to hearing more as you progress :)

Re: Drum roll... please.

How to cheat .. but it works.

Find the drum rolls you want in pre-existing midi files. Open them in MC, isolate them, then save them for tweaking ;)

Edit: I've just noticed Mab098157 has already suggested it

Re: Sound check-Work in progress

A much better balance this time round Mark. I get the feeling that those guitars should be rocking a lot more. Re: Home setup

If you go to the Preferences section and select Control Surfaces, in the drop down tab there's a list of mapped Controllers which should work very well ;)
