Haven't had much time to record my own stuff recently, but have been working on this for a while and finally found the time and motivation to finish it. Hope you enjoy it and as always any comments / suggestions gratefully received.

Re: Crackle
Hmm, if you've frozen the track and you are still getting the crackle it's clearly there on the original track.
Can you go back to the unfrozen track and try to disable each VST one at a time and see if you can isolate a problematic VST? It's not something as simple as excessive level on the track?

Re: Crackle
Possibly either an issue with the recorded track, or potentially CPU load? Questions; 1. crackle on playback, yes? 2. How many tracks? 3. what does the CPU load meter say? 4. are you using loads of VSTs? 5. have you tried freezing tracks, does it help? Latest drivers on audio interface, obviously. A...

Re: Just blowin' off steam
Thought it was great... hugely imaginative, thought I was in for some AC/DC rocking, ended up with what sounded to me like some early French electronica. The only suggestion would be around bass levels, at 22 seconds in the bass - for me - slightly overpowers the mix and detracts from the lead guita...

Re: My first album
Agreed, it's a very catchy, very fun tune, guitar sounds a lot like "Ramble On", no bad thing I guess? Really nice funky guitar and bass, but a lot of distortion in the mix. Might want to turn things down a bit. Is the break at 1m56 intentional? Sounds like it might be?

Re: New song...
Another superb song! I loved the vocals, you've got a great singing voice and they were, to my ears, very nicely mixed. Bass was shaking the room!

Secret Smile
Hi all, I've been working on a cover of Semisonic's "Secret Smile", one of my favourite songs. Dan Wilson is a superb songwriter, and has a sublime voice. So I guess it's quite a faithful cover, but it served to allow me to learn a little more about about Amplitube 3, some of the new tools...

Re: Using izotope elements
Thanks for your reply. The T-Racks might be the worth a try, I can see that it's still on offer at €30 for the classic one. Probably worth a punt at that money. I agree that the preset settings are not so useful, all of them I have to dial the bass boost back hugely, The room compensation is useful ...

Using izotope elements
Friends, having just upgraded to Mixcraft Pro 7, I'm having my first experience with izotope elements, and I am enjoying mixed results so far. I like the effect that the tool has on the overall sound, to my ears it makes the mix a lot more homogenous, but I'm less impressed with its tendency to bury...

Re: Latency or something else?
I think Greg may have hit something here. Spent most of the night playing with it and the latest drivers do seem to have fixed the issue. I still think the Asio4all drivers are slightly better, but the Focusrite beta drivers are hugely better than the stock 2.5.1 drivers. I do remember that I notice...

Re: Latency or something else?
Further update. The Focusrite beta 64 bit drivers work well, and resolve the arming delay when using Asio4all. Looks like a driver issue. I should probably order a new i7 desktop just to be on the safe side....

Re: Latency or something else?
I've switched the driver from the Focusrite driver to the Asio4all driver and this has greatly improved the problem, although there is now a short delay between arming the track and the arm icon highlighting. I'll experiment a little more this evening and see how things go. I've looked on a number o...

Re: Latency or something else?
Have tried direct monitoring but found that (a) it was quite tricky to get the right sound ie reasonably high gain guitar without actually hearing what I was playing. And (b) it made a little improvement but not much. I'm used - with the Line 6 - to be able to dial in an effect and to record with th...

Latency or something else?
Could use some advice on a problem I seem to be having with mixcraft. I've bought a new audio interface - a focusrite scarlett 2i2 and am using amplitube 3. Its an upgrade from my old Line 6 UX1 and pod farm. Or at least I hoped it was.... The sound quality is definitely a step up but I seem to be h...
