I hear you.I'm new to this stuff too.Luckily,I bought a laptop with XP just before vista came out.You would think they would work out any problems before releasing..........Anyways,keep crankin out the tunes,would like to hear more,G.

Eric,Thanks for the EQ link and info.That is a cool tool.Was able to drastically reduce the hiss pretty easily using headphones.Gonna use this to clean up all recordings...........If Acoustica is paying you,they need to give you a big raise for all the useful info you provide on your sites and these...

Would lowering the high freqs get rid of the hiss?The only effect I added was a bit of reverb(small room I think),otherwise it's just plain jane.........Oh,by the way checked out your site,damn cool.I'm a big hard rock/metal fan.Saw Sabbath/Megadeth/Down a few weeks ago.Good show..........Your beatc...

Umm,you can change the tempo or pitch of any given track via the sound tab near the bottom of the screen.Might be what you're looking for.

I'm using a peavey PVi2.Sounds great.No different from shure 58,or so I'm told,for about half the price.I use it for vocals and recording my own bongos,direct to mic in. 8)

Follow up note:To obtain a bass sound from a guitar in mixcraft.Go to the sound tab near the bottom of the screen.You can change the pitch for any particular track.Drop the pitch an octave(-12.0).Too easy.Don't know why I didn't think of it early.Cheers,G. 8)

I did manage to find something that sounds reasonably ok if you find the right settings.It's called madshifta,but I think it's more geared for hip-hop,dance and dj stuff.G.
