Video Bump

Took suggestions and made some changes in verb levels, stereo width and gave up on Mid-Side Harmonic Vitaliser+. Kept giving me some weird results.
Still improving I think?

Re: 64 bit issues
Personally I would always go with whatever option gives me the lowest latency. For me it was 32. 64 was killing me. Not sure what benefits I'm missing not using 64, but the playback and latency were not worth it.

Re: midi instruments pitching down
Not to hijack this tread but... I troubleshot my new mix this weekend. Spend hours trying to figure out why a vox part would drop completely in two section, if playback started at more that 10 bars before. But if I playback 2-3 bars before - perfect. The only conclusion I could come up with was a co...

Re: Calm
Good work Dave. Nice smooth groove. Assuming the sax is loops again? Its weird how the wave form doesn't seem to fit the tune? When I looked at it I thought I had a good idea of the dynamic flow, but it does seem to fit? Do you see what I mean?

Re: midi instruments pitching down
Had this type of thing happen to me when I was using an old synth as my controller. It was dying and throwing random stuff in all the time. Updated my controller since then, but some things I was able to notice that seemed to help. Sometimes it seemed to occur when the track was unfrozen, this may h...

Just noticed this today in Soundcloud. Loved the sax riffing throughout. Good tune Dave.

Re: Change snare sound of a drum kit?
Assuming you have the entire kit in one track... You'll have better control by having each "piece" in its own track ie kick in 1, snare in 2, hit hat in 3, etc all under a "Drum" submix. With each in their own track to can assign whatever VST or voice you want. Kick from heavy ki...

Re: Add Global Tracks to Mixcraft 7
What do you mean by Global tracks? Are you referring to tracks that will be there each time you open MC? If so that can be done by creating a template. You can create a template that when you start a new project will always have your "global" tracks: verb send, gtr, vox, drums, etc with yo...

Re: And She's Gone
Thanks Rick. The lyrics steered me to a R&B feel. And I just tried to get a nice "traditional" sound. First time using horns and hope they came off sounding decent. Still working on video and now the mix is just little tweaks here and there. Although I'm considering a slight tempo bump...

Re: Little song, big learning experience....
Nice work Rick. Agree with Tom the arraignment and mix allows each voice to stand out. Just a small suggestion... the reverb on the piano gives it an electric feel (maybe you used a e piano vst), and seems boxed in with eq. Maybe open up the range by less eq to give it a more natural piano sound tha...

Re: And She's Gone
Thanks Nicky. While working on the video I've already made some notes on changes including less direct reverb on vox and more of an overall room feel on the total mix. Great idea on the horns, I'll try that.

And She's Gone - Final Mix w/ Video
Work in progress. Taking a break to start on video before I finish it out. R&B tune. First time using horns . Any suggestions on the mix? Thanks.
