Re: Mixdown issues with EastWest
Hi, Have you tried mixing down to a wav file with the same sample rate you're using in Mixcraft's Sound Device preferences? For example, if you're using a sample rate of 48000 Hz in Sound Device preferences, try mixing down to a wav file with a sample rate of 48000 Hz. Greg Will give it a try. The ...

Re: Mixdown issues with EastWest
Theres not a lot in that thread to try, other than "upgrade to the latest Play". Well its 7-8 years later and I'm on the latest. (Theres also "use edirol". Um, no, lol.) The problem seems to be that the mixdown mode just doesnt seem to be compatible with the play plugin, which is...

Mixdown issues with EastWest
I'm having bit of a recurring issue with mixdowns involving EastWest's play. If I take a simple piano line, use Bechstein piano (for example) as the patch and play it , it runs fine in regular DAW mode, but when I do a mixdown its clipping the ends off all the notes making it sound like theres a bru...

Re: Firewire nightmare
Windows 10 and firewire just don't get on well I've found. I went through maybe 4-5 firewire cards till I found one that worked well with my Focusrite unit, but XP-windows 7 worked great. Apparently its pretty common across all hardware. Whats likely happening is your having issues with interupt lat...

Re: Cinematic type tune
Have you considered something like EastWests composer cloud or something? Your composition and arangements pretty great, but some of the stuff suffers from the default instruments. Mixcrafts pianissmo, and the synths are all fab, but some of the other stuff really isn't as detailed as one would pref...

Re: Mixcraft Suggestions!
Support for some of the old Avid/Digidesign control surfaces would be amazing. You can pick those up dirt cheap on ebay these days, but they dont do the mackie control thing (Could you imagine Avid even *acknowledging* a defacto standard they didnt invent lol) so off limits

Re: Academic Question about gain peaking
Internally, uncompressed audio is just a series of numbers between 0 and 2^16 (or 24/32/64/whatever). Lets just for the sake of ease go old school for the sake of explanation, and imagine we're all 80s cats in mirror shades and akai samplers, and we're dealing with 2^8, thats a number between 0 and ...

Re: Blast From The Past - Mixcraft Compatibility with Digidesign 003 desk?
Compatibility with the old Avid/Digidesign Control-8 desks would be good too. You can pick those up for a song these days, and they are genuinely high quality bits of kit.

Re: Mic Preamp before USB Interface?
Yes and no re necessity. Most decent converters have decent pres (Focusrite particularly do) but sometimes an external pre can really do a lot to get better control over gain structure before inflicting it on the converters. I have a pair of modded Golden Age Pre73s (Basically component level knock ...

Re: Searching For The Perfect Piano
I don't own it but I post it here because given the quality of the Waves stuff it's bound to be excellent (and there's a demo available). Definately try the demo first. Personally its been the least useful piano plugin I I own. Its really CPU hungry, takes forever to load its samples in and honestl...

Re: Video Editor 32bits
It shouldn't make the slightest bit of difference to your third party video editing software which edition of Mixcraft you use. However you wont be using Mixcraft 64 bit version on a 32 bit windows. With all that said , theres no sensible reason to be using a 32 bit windows in 2018. The fact your li...

The ability to specify what channel to use when setting up control surfaces w/ midi. I've got a maschine and I'm trying to set it up so I can control mixcraft AND use the pads for controlling drums/etc. I've got it set up so mackie control down ch1, midi note pads down ch2. The problem is, when the ...

Re: Pianissimo - Wish List: fix low end
To be honest, I've got a whole bunch of different piano VSTs , the full set of EWQL Pianos , Waves Grand Rhapsody, Alishas Keys , and this. Other than perhaps the Yamaha grand in EWQL, Pianissimo is my favorite so far. Oh, theres a nice piano in Logic too actually, over in the mac dimension. I think...

Re: Mixcraft Suggestions!
I've spoken in the other thread about more consistent midi routing, particularly from VSTs. This is a really important one. So I'll drop it in here too. But I might also add, some sort of scripting capability. Lua is dead easy to embed (You just need to pay a bit of attention to the docs on serializ...
