Re: Your review of inexpensive plugins
Thx! PS to avoid confusion I should add there is a soft synth called "Chimera" which is totally unrelated to that sampler package (the syth is both free and good IMO).

Re: Why no 88.2kHz and 176.4kHz Sample Rates available for Mix Down
Not this again lol  Sorry dp and others but aj is correct. You might make a case for 48khz (albeit a tiny one), but really there is no point recording at a higher sample rate, if even that. Not only does it not buy you anything, it's actually if anything worse sound quality-wise. All it gi...

Re: Orchestral VSTs
https://www.native-instruments.com/en/p ... t&t=finder I should have included the link. Thanks, but I don't see it on sale at that link-? In the end Kontakt is king. The others are ok and since basic versions are free it's still an option. ENGINE is software descended from Yellowtools. I don't ...

Re: Orchestral VSTs
I should mention a competitive library player called ENGINE. I have a few of their libraries. Not quite as intuitive as Kontakt...... Ouch! Theres a VSTi less intuitive than KontaKt?  Kidding. A little. Actually after witnessing a demo of how KLI libraries can be used in the latest ver...

Re: Orchestral VSTs
Just a couple more things I'll throw out there for anyone who is looking at the options available. It's a actually difficult to find Kontakt for sale on the NI website. If you poke around a bit you'll evetually find it. Any reason you didn't include the link here? (And yes their web site sucks badly...

Re: USB Interface Recommendations
Just a quick update and PSA: No regrets on getting the Behringer UMC404HD . Yesterday I noticed that after checking a few online sites that Behringer recently had a $30US price increase. Personally, I think they're worth far more than they're asking, but if anyone's on the fence or in the market fo...

Your review of inexpensive plugins
Not that hundreds of $ stuff...what cheapos have you tried and how did it work out? PS: not affiliated with pluginboutigue.com, but they often have sales on stuff for as little as a buck, such as these two: Hybrid 3: Nothing amazing IMO, but easily worth a buck if you're in the hunt for a soft synth...

DVS Saxophone I also thought was quite good, although somewhat limited.

Re: Orchestral VSTs
Well, the free VST crashed Mixcraft on opening the project I used it in. I loved the timpani roll and used it - everything was fine. Then saved the project. Came back to it later and the project would not open - no error, it just shut down MX. I removed the VST files and tried again and it opened (...

Re: Orchestral VSTs
np and I agree with all of your comments (although it never crashed Mixcraft for me). I was also surprised there was no solo cello etc. Yeah "horn" is definitely a French Horn, though IMO it's not that great; Acoustica's is easily better and quite good IMO. IMO, if you're really into doing...

Re: Mixcraft Suggestions!
Pushy pushy  Actually though, generally speaking, I think it would be well worthwhile to come out with an 8.2 or even 8.11 with at least a variety of modest tweaks vs going whole-hog on a ton of changes for v9 (those who bought v8 or better getting the free upgrade). Love those armchair QBs eh??

Hey Bill, Hit the "sign up" button at the top of their page and you'll get regular email updates on the latest deals. Its a pretty good source in my experience. If you can show some self control and restraint! And P.S. there's no shame in not being a skilled "freeloader." You kn...
