The question was kind of vague; what's your budget? How many I/Os do you need? What about MIDI? etc
I disagree on Scarletts, at least the lower-end ones; have heard too many people having problems with the drvers, compatibility issues etc. When they work they do get high praise though.

Suggestion about the suggestions
Hey Acoustic folks: right now by my count there are 70 pages of suggestions for the next version of Mixcraft. If you guys really want to not miss anything and get people's ideas but (understandably) aren't too interested in trying to read all of those posts, had an idea that would make it a lot easi...

Re: Mixcraft still the easiest learning curve!
Looks like the little troll's post was deleted. aw. Anyway I echo what the others have said. I've tried a wide variety of DAWs and Mixcraft was the easiest to use by far...which isn't the only reason I settled on it, but the primary one. I have zero interest in having to go get an EE degree just to ...

Re: Mixcraft Suggestions!
Hi, Having a second monitor is sweet. Don't give up on suggestions! Lots of suggestions from this thread (and elsewhere) have been implemented into Mixcraft. The problem is that the suggestions we add soon get taken for granted and people only notice the suggestions that we didn't get a chan...

Re: Mixcraft Suggestions!
I think I mentioned this before so pardon if a duplication, but I feel strongly enough that I want to make sure: Please move the transport bar to an upper or lower corner of the screen, or better yet, make it undockable so I can move it around wherever I want. This should be a very quick and easy th...

Just a belated plug and thanks for what IMO is an extremely good built-in set. You don't need some flashy third party stuff (not that they aren't worth using in some cases of course).

Re: Microphones
Thx - I made sure to say "generally" because of course it can vary. Honestly I think it's hard to buy a truly bad mic today (probably when you get sub-$50 there are some clunkers, but even among them I bet there are some pleasant surprises), just better or worse relative to others and agai...

Re: Microphones
What mic you buy has nothing to do with what DAW you're using, but anyway......it depends what "would like to do some singing" means. If she's just into recording her voice for fun and not doing any "serious" recording, I wouldn't even spend $100. The Behringer C1 and MXL 67 are ...

Re: Excellent budget mixing headphones: Superlux HD681F
For quality headphones, $35 is a great price, but honestly I don't get the value/interest in semi-open headphones. They bleed so a potential danger for tracking, and if only for monitoring, fully open is preferable. I'd just as soon spend the extra chunk of change to get the ATH 20s at $50 (closed)....

Re: VSCO Chamber Orchestra Version 2
Mixed thoughts on this offhand, just starting using it. The instruments generally sound kind of "OK" (some are better than others). I think it would be fine for live performances, but not sure I'd use it for recording.

Re: Notes not playing on VSTi
Hi, We found with Musical Typing that the number of keys you can press at once varies. On some keyboards, you can only play five notes at a time, for example. The maximum number you can play will vary depending upon your particular PC keyboard. Greg Thanks for the info Greg. Any idea why, or a chan...
