The midi file is the same type and comes from the same source as before updating to MX9. I create my music in Sibelius and export to MIDI and open in MX.

I tried a midi file I got from the web, Bitmidi, it does not work either.

Any further thoughts?

Yes, that is how I always open midi file.

Oddly enough, when I tried to do the update to 462 from help/check for updates inside MX9, it wont do it. It says save your work and retry. I did three times and it did nothing. I'm now downloading it from your website directly. Fingers crossed.

Yes. It's only 24 bars long and it is all in 4/4. There are tempo changes, but not at where Mixcraft has changed the time signature.
