Blue Sky...
Without Mixcraft, and without the help and support of people here, and our Mark (who is wonderful) specifically, I wouldn't be continuing to produce my own songs as such an interesting hobby now that my children are older! Here's a new one from me, I appreciate any/all your criticism, help and advic...

Re: On the lookout for a good track compressor
A list would be good...kind of to have a standard?
Even just for myself!
Otherwise literally every new project I go hunting for a good track compressor.
I agree Mark, MCompressor might be the one...a bit ugly...I kind of like those Russian ones! lol

Re: Tempo Map
I've done a song with a lot of tempo changes in Mixcraft, to give it the feel of naturally accelerating slightly (a more "human" feel), and I can say that it works quite well. The problem comes of course when there's a time signature change (think The Stranglers "Golden Brown" or...

Re: On the lookout for a good track compressor
Does anyone actually use any of the MC built-in compressors? Why does MC8 not have a simple general purpose compressor that meets the following?? (1) clearly labelled simple controls carefully numbered ie threshold, attack, ratio, knee, release, makeup gain (2) in, out, gain reduction meters prefera...

Re: How to ID 32 bit Mixcraft plugs
Personally, this is an irritation of mine, that so so many 32bit only plugs are included in MC (ProStudio), albeit many good ones! My projects drown in a combination of 32/64... But, there's no easy answer, apart from for my new project I'm going to source entirely 64bit (rather than lazily reaching...

Re: Folder Problems 2
What a great name for a song! and all those Capo positions!? Probably best stick with "All In The Note", as Howard Jones already went with New Song (and I'm old enough to remember it *sigh*)Mark Bliss wrote:this brilliantly named "New Song" folder.

Re: Understanding the Mixer EQ
Useful stuff!
I actually do sometimes use the Mixer EQ - maybe I'm in the minority there - but only for subtle quick tweaks as you describe.

On the lookout for a good track compressor
hi folks I'm not lacking in brilliant (IMHO) mix/master compressors/limiters: Limiter no.6, TDR Koletnikov, Unlimited, TB_Barricade(CM), Frontier(D16). But for tracks...bit of peak limiting, or add some character, I find the Kjaerhus or VTC-1 Vacuum Tube harsh. (and let's not mention the "Broad...

Re: Perplexed still re final volume level
move a submix fader to tweak the group level, it changes the balance relative to my sends because the returns are routed past the submix faders straight to the master bus Yes indeed!!! Oh, and has anyone tried this Youlean Loudness Meter ? It *looks* ok, I've just tried it, but I'm far from expert....

Re: Studio Devil Virtual Bass Amp breaks when trying to mix-down half of the time
I must admit that I've had this plugin crash ever since it was launched, and I've used it ever since. I *love* the idea of it, but it's clearly an original vendor problem (not you MC guys!), and I've stopped using it... after all, what's a bit of EQ, compression, light distortion & amp simulatio...
