V9 question - gain knob

Maybe this was always thre and I never knew it. I usually put the Blue Cat gain vst on my tracks to level set the volume of things I record. Though sometimes I'll use the input gain knob in the VST itself like in GTR3. Looks like this knob does the same thing - but is it pre or post the fx I have on...

Re: V9 question 2 - detach everything?

OK - Figured out how to do the transport bar (3 horizontal lines not visible in light mode at least until I hover on it) And the mixer etc (similar) (EDIT - thanks Greg - we cross posted) What about tracks? I can move them up/down as before but I don't see how to undock them EDIT - maybe the picture...

V9 question 2 - detach everything?

I read somewhere (can't find it easily) how in V9 I can undock or detach more than just the project/sound/mixer/library section.

It seems that "details" area undocks as a separate window no different than previous versions.

Did I read that right? Or am I missing something else?

Finally getting time to explore V9 - preview track

I finally have time today to explore Version 9. I may be posting more than a couple questions - and I will do a search before I do so as not to be too annoying. My first, that I can't find an explanation for - is the preview track. How / when /why would that be used? I see something about previewing...

Re: advantage of step recorder

Can I believe this? I just upgraded and haven't played with 9 yet But this is a dream come true! Thank you! Edit - for anyone who might not understand yet, this lets you enter the notes using the midi keyboard rather than point and click C chord for example. Just play it. Rather than pointing on the...

Re: Analog warmth / vinyl sound

As on the other thread, thanks Anorax! I decided to just use the FAT+ plugin to get a bit of "warmth" to the final mixes. Did that just now to a rock song I did and I can in fact tell a subtle difference in parts - nothing so much that I'd say "WOW! THAT'S what I missing!!" But it's kind of nice. No...

Re: New computer - issues upon issues

No worries Anorax - but thanks! As Mark said and you imply, it was not at all clear that it was my new version of Waves Central that was the issue. Oh well - that's ok. $22 won't break me. Let me delude myself that version 11 of those two are better and worth the money! And I got I'm remixing done t...

Re: Analog warmth / vinyl sound

Well, this is odd. I did a search on such things as vinyl and warmth etc I got several hits. Many of which were responses to ME! I asked a similar question July 2017. two and a half years ago. And mentioned how my son's records sounded. Which I would have sworn was a comment I made less than a year ...

Analog warmth / vinyl sound

OK -so I guess I'm a sucker. I have a $22 voucher for upgrading my two Waves plugins (detailed in my "new computer" thread. I've often been curious of the idea of running my music through one of the plugins that purport to make it sound more like vinyl records or in some sense analog tape players. S...

Re: New computer - issues upon issues

Well I got impatient because my time on holiday vacation is rapidly running out; I just saw your very helpful message Mark - but not before I updated anyway. Everything works fine now. It only cost me $22 total to update both Bass Rider and GTR3 from whatever versions I had to version 11. Still anno...

Re: New computer - issues upon issues

Update - Everthing is working fine EXCEPT the waves plugins (bass rider and gtr) I have older versions (I think 7 or 8 ). The waves central app shows the licenses and I've transferred to the new machine. But they don't show under install As much as I truly hate to do this on principle, I may simply ...

Re: New computer - issues upon issues

Thanks all

I got Chris Hein Horns working (native/kontakt) along with mb-33 (through ilok)

Waiting to hear from waves support on gtr (and bass rider)

Also izotope support for neutron and other related plug ins I bought from them

Frustrating but I'll get through it presumably

Re: New computer - issues upon issues

Update - iLok was for a B3 emulator I bought; I have the zip files and I have one more license I can use for it; that should be ok Similar with Chris Hein; I see there is a Native Instruments license manager so that might take care of it. I have the install files. The issue is with Waves (GTR and Ba...

New computer - issues upon issues

I guess this is more a rant or frustration. And it definitely is not a criticism of Mixcraft whatsoever. More it's venting on the insane way certain products (which I've paid good money for) cannot be used on my new computer. At least, I'm be (darned) if I can see how. Bass Rider and GTR from Waves....
