Re: Mastering help!

So, since I'm adding compression to the mix globally, should I leave it off individual tracks such as drums, bass, or clean guitars? Also how much compression should I be using. Even a ballpark range would be helpful. Thanks!

Mastering help!

I'm having a bit of trouble getting a good mastered sound. My tunes seem to sound better without any compression or master limiter on it. I feel like it loses clarity and sounds very compressed, even though I use very minimal compression. Is this normal? Is there a preferred way of using the compres...

Re: Guitar amp miking?

Hi, thanks I will check on that. My Blackstar HT-40 amp I ordered came in today, so I will try it out with that. Before I was using an Ibanez solid state amp, which is basically their ripoff of a Roland JC-120 amp, so we'll see how it goes!

Guitar amp miking?

I have been experimenting with miking my guitar amp, but can't seem to get a good sound. It comes out rather thin sounding, without much bottom. I'm using a Shure SM57 and a Yamaha Audiogram 3 interface. Has anyone else had success with a similar setup or can anyone recommend good techniques for get...

What is a good chorus plugin?

I'm looking for a chorus that can recreate the Dytronics Tri-Chorus sound to give me that stratty 80s lush clean tone made famous by guys like Steve Lukather and Michael Landau. I like the Classic Chorus for lead tone, but it's not quite giving me what I want for clean rhythm tone. Anybody recommend...

Is there a way to delete all old takes

When I record something and delete it or hit undo, I think Mixcraft stores it, so is there a way to delete everything that's not currently being used?

I'm liking the lead sounds from Amplitube with their T-Rex Mudhoney pedal for distortion, but I like the Honken clean amp better than the ones that come with Amplitube. I just have the free condensed version of Amplitube though.

Shred Amp Simulator vs. Amplitube 3

I was just wondering what the general consensus is. What I've heard from Shred sounds great, but their is a lot that comes with Amplitube so just curious...

I figured out the problem. The ASIO driver I downloaded was actually a trial version and so it beeps every 30 seconds til you buy it. The price was $70. Is there aything inexpensive that would work well? I also downloaded the ASIO4ALL driver, but my interface does not recognize it.

Audio Interface is making a beeping noise

just got a new Yamaha Audiogram 3 USB audio interface, and it periodically makes a loud beeping sound. I don't think itis Mixcraft, since closed the program and it was still making that noise? Is my unit bad, or is there a way I can get rid of that?

MIDI keyboard question...touch sensitivity?

So I have a Casio WK-3000 keyboard which is MIDI capable and is touch sensitive. Will that transfer on to Mixcraft if I use it as a virtual instrument? Or will everything be the same velocity no matter how hard I press on the keys? I don't have MIDI connectors yet so I haven't gotten to try it yet.

How do you connect studio monitors?

I just ordered Mixcraft 5 and I'm not seeing very much on integrating studio monitors. Has anyone done that and if so, how? Thanks!
