Re: waves electric88 VST3 crashes

Hey for all interested... I just updated to build 389 and it seems the E88 works! :D

I haven't tested super-extensively but before I could make it crash in about 10 seconds doing specific things, and when I try those things now it is fine.

A huge THANK YOU to whoever fixed this!

Re: Looking for feedback

Vocal: It sounds like it's panned way left with lots of chorus or something on it. Pan it center and try lightening up a bit on the effects. It's a nice vocal I just find it a little distracting and unnatural sounding as it is. I agree 100%! I like it overall but the vocals seem a little "over...

Re: waves electric88 VST3 crashes

AARGH!! For just a minute, I thought I'd found a way to make it work. :( If I fire up Mixcraft and go into the fx for a channel, Electric88 is indeed there. It was in MC 7 too, but would never do anything. Anyhow, I do the above, select Electric88 as an effect, and start hitting keys on my keyboard ...

Re: waves electric88 VST3 crashes

Hi, Was that the VST3 version of Electric88? Greg I did a little more digging on this... it appears that Waves provides both a VST and VST3 version of the plugin. However I've only been able to get Mixcraft to recognize the VST3 version. So I guess the short answer to your question is "yes&quo...

Re: waves electric88 VST3 crashes

Actually I've been using 32-bit Mixcraft, but the versions of Podium and Reaper I tried were 64-bit (this is on 64-bit Windows 10).

But I just installed 64-bit Mixcraft and updated it to build 380 and it has the same problems.

Re: waves electric88 VST3 crashes

Uh... I think so?

In Reaper, it appears under the "VST3i" category... I'm not sure how to tell in Podium.

Re: waves electric88 VST3 crashes

There are other programs?

Kidding aside, I tried the Electric 88 last night with the free/eval versions of Podium and Reaper, and it seems to work fine with both.

Re: waves electric88 VST3 crashes

For what it's worth, I contacted Waves' tech support about the issue and got this response: Dear Eric, Thank you for contacting Waves Tech-Support. Please note that Acoustica Mixcraft 8 is not officially supported with Waves V9. This does not necessarily mean that it won’t work, just that our softwa...

Re: waves electric88 VST3 crashes

I had already tried with build 380, just updated to 381, and no joy. Phegi: for what it's worth, as a software developer I can tell you things like that can be really difficult to figure out. Finding issues in your own program can range from easy to hard, but finding issues with your program interac...

MC8 problems adding sound device when pgm is open

I have a Fender G-DEC guitar amp with a USB interface that looks to the PC like a sound card. And I have a Behringer mixer with the same. Until today I've been using MC with the mixer and it's worked fine. Today, with MC open and the mixer on (I always turn it on before the computer) and a project o...

Yep! That's exactly what I do.

I'd definitely recommend MuseScore, not only because of it's attractive $0 price point but because it's actually good software!

Re: Best Way To Input MIDI

In my mind it would work something like this - in the piano roll, you select a default note (quarter, eighth etc) and you are sitting at a particular place in the clip. Then - rather than pointing and clicking, I can use my midi keyboard. What ever note or note I press shows on the piano roll. Sort...

Re: Build 380 slow/no launch?

Hmm... now I can't reproduce the problem! Last time I had 275 running, did "update" from the menu, and it got partway into the update and complained about MC still being open. So I closed it, and it continued with the patch process... very slowly. I'd say it took a minute or more and this ...

Build 380 slow/no launch?

Is anyone else having trouble launching MC8 build 380? I started on 373, then moved to 375, with no issue. When I double-clicked to run MC, the splash screen would come, it would say "initializing" this and that for maybe 10 seconds as the bar graph progressed, and then the program would b...

Re: MX 8 - is it safe?

I'm with the others... while I'm by no means a "power user", I've had nearly zero problems with MC8 except for with one plugin that didn't work at all with 7. All in all I'm very happy with it - I have to say that compared to a lot of other software, the Mixcraft folks really seem to do we...
