Hopefully a simple question.....
Hi folks, When I want to practice piano, I simply open up a Mixcraft project, select a piano sound, and play away. I tried opening a wav. file from my desktop to play along with, but the file won't play when Mixcraft is open. Is there an easy way around this? Many thanks, Rick. (I'm using MX6 and an...

Re: Make It With You (Instrumental)
Howdy, Tom! It was good to hear this tune again, with some bittersweet memories attached. Something about an ex-girlfriend. I thought she was the one for a couple of years... ah, I can still picture her-- endless legs, fragrant and dew-dropped just out of the shower....ahem. Well, you get the pictur...

Space indeed! Lots of layers of nice electronica going on here! I like the steady buildup, and the slow fade at the end. The percussion track bothered me a little at the beginning until I got used to it, but I ended up really enjoying it.. Thanks! Rick.

Howdy Mark!
Love this tune! Nothing sad about this one-- great lyrics, and fun video. Has a nice old "Mellencamp" small-town feeling to it! Nice job with the vocals and instrumentals. Keep it up. Rick.

Hi Jeremy,
I agree with Ahornsby-- both these mixes sound good to me, with the 2nd having a much fuller overall sound. Very good instrumental mix, and you have a good voice! Maybe some vocal harmonies in places would sound great. Nice work Rick.

Re: New Approach to mixing..feedback wanted..
Hi folks, Happy to hear some other objective input on this-- it's a learning experience for me, too. Thanks for the listening, Mick-- another set of objective ears is a great tool for us learning the mix thing. Robert, I gave this latest mix a listen on my monitor speakers instead of 'phones, and I ...

Re: Separating Audio Channels
Hey, I've NEVER run into any "harshing" on this forum. Lots of folks out here with solid, and never condescending advice. I've learned a lot of great things on these forums-- thanks to everyone. There are no stupid questions-- ask, and almost always, you'll get honest and clear advice. I, ...

Re: New Approach to mixing..feedback wanted..
Hey Robert-- YEAH-- this sounds much more well balanced, and overall "brighter" than the first mix. Upping the guitar volume really helped, and I hear the guitar parts much more clearly now. Nice work, and, in my opinion, your mix system seems to be working well for you. :D I'd still like ...

Re: New Approach to mixing..feedback wanted..
Hi Robert-- I'm no "mixmaster" by any stretch of imagination, still climbing that learning curve myself  But, I know how easy it is to lose your objectivity after listening to a piece 1.3 million times, so-- my 2 cents worth. Overall, the mix sounds pretty good to me, although the lef...

Re: Back to the City - Folk-Soul-Fusion
Of course, I should have known it was Uilleann pipe, I'm just not used to it being played in this context! Great sound. I was a huge fan of Paddy Keenan and Bothy Band in the 70's. I've heard some stunning duets with fiddle and pipes, and it serves to remind me what a wonderful instrument it is. Kud...

Re: Back to the City - Folk-Soul-Fusion
I'm not sure how I'd categorize this either, so I thought "folk-jazz-fusion" was a good way to describe it. I like this piece! What is the instrument carrying the lead melody? Works well, with a nice solid bass line to anchor it. Thanks! Rick.

Thanks Mick--- exactly what I needed. A workaround, elegant in its simplicity! Sometimes I'm so hung up in the moment that I fail to back up and look at things logically This will be a great timesaver! Rick.

Piano roll editing of submix track...?
In Mixcraft 6, if I create a submix track of 3 virtual instruments recorded simultaneously, (in this case 3 synth pads), is there a way to do piano roll editing of the 3 tracks simultaneously? A brief experiment seems to indicate that each of the tracks must be edited separately, but I thought I'd c...
