Production fun, but the song could be better

I'm posting this here, well, just to share how hard it is...but also how rewarding and FUN it is to work on our own compositions and our own production..... Using Mixcraft of course. So, for this one, my focus was on a DI acoustic sound, playing a real bass for the first time, and some double tracki...

Re: Mixbus quality jump

Only way to address your queries would be for you to purchase Mixbus and then ask the Acoustica guys if/how to duplicate specifically the easier work flow and superior results you got from Mixbus in Mixcraft. Well, I've no intention of buying Mixbus. And I certainly wish I hadn't mentioned it! Was ...

Re: Mixbus quality jump

I believe the people at Acoustica are in it for the sound. -h Sure, I do too... But also I'm surprised that Acoustica folks aren't commenting to eg mention timestretching and it's effect on fidelity, or dither, or all of those internal software things that I guess I need reassurance on... Because, ...

Mixbus quality jump

Hi there I've found an internal jump in the quality of my mixes in 7.7 (which I love btw), and whilst I've looked at (ie guessed at) the whole 32bit float etc etc angle, internal distortion through plugins blah blah, I can't explain it any other way other than *the software got better* at the intern...

Re: Bass Loops

That was my solution after programming MIDI for years. It was just too much work trying to get really cool grooves. And I'm not a decent enough keyboardist so I always fell short,,until I got my bass. These days you can get a pretty decent bass from 200. To 300. Bucks. I got mine used after reading...

Great idea! I've always either made my own midi loops, or modified WAV samples...but, any top tips for where to get good free midi loops from Tom?

Thx!

Re: Bass Loops

These are in stock at my local guitar shop... http://www.backalleymusic.co.uk/content ... e_(inc_Bag).html Problem is, change too many variables, as a solo musician it becomes harder. I write most of my songs either on acoustic, or more likely in Mixcraft sitting back and being inspired by the rhyth...

Re: Bass Loops

Pitch changing has issues with tone/pitch variation during sustain. You seem to be a talented guitarist, I'm surprised no one has given the most common answer related to bass and bass recording... get a cheap bass . I think you'll be happier creating you own stuff than searching for the "right...

Re: Clip Effects

To be honest, I usually setup a seperate track for parts of the vocal that you might double track or treat with different effects. This is really handy if you're going to use it in several places. It then works out simpler than automation which you may have to keep hiding/un-hiding. Just duplicate t...

Re: Bass Loops

Anyone got any tips for the new Omni Sampler with respect to bass sounds? perhaps combined with the XBass 4000L Bass Enhancer? I've no experience of the former... but whilst I've tried bass sounds on my midi keyboard, I wonder if the Omni sampler gives any sonic advantages? Is it really just pitch s...

Re: Bass Loops

Doubt this will help, BUT before i baught my bass i used my guitar to record the bass, and just used the "edit audio" thingy (when you doubleclick on your audiotrack) and pitched it down 6 semitones and just added EQ/reverb etc.. to get the sound i wanted. Might be worth a try? I've tried...
