Re: How To Use A Midi Controller
The Donner keyboard looks like it is a plug and play device, but if drivers came with it you will need to install them. Then I would watch these videos and go from there. These have Mixcraft 7 in them but the concept is basically the same. Good luck. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0VE5uTZa2o https...

Re: Crackling & Popping-Freeze?
Freezing a track is just like "mixing to a new audio track" except it does not create a new audio track. It just saves the new audio file somewhere in the project file. It also disables the virtual instrument and effects on that track. How good is your computer? What is the specs? You coul...

Re: Trying to understand Asio!!
Have you installed drivers for your interface?
If not go here and pick out your device and install them.

Re: Trying to understand Asio!!
Here is what I would try. Go into Sound Device Preferences and choose Asio. Then choose your M-Audio interface as the Recording In and Out device. If it is not listed you will have to find the Asio drivers for your interface. There will be a Buffer size parameter below that, set it to 512 for know. ...

Re: Convert Audio to MIDI Command (for Bass)
Once you get your midi data on a track, open the Instrument window and pick an instrument or instrument preset and a tab at the bottom right should pop up called "Show Details". Hit that and there will be a transpose button. You can then transpose up an octave (+12) . Page 291 in the manual.

Re: Drum beat programming
Have you tried to find any Drum Machine software instruments (VST's)? I've seen them around before. Maybe you can find one that acts like that old drum machine.

Re: Boss Katana 50 MkII issues
Thanks for all the help and advice guys, I find these forums incredibly useful. It turns out the only way to do it the way I wanted is to use the phones socket on the amp itself - lets you hear everything and gives you the lowest possible latency. Probably should've tried that first...thanks again....

Re: Random CD Data
I believe it is called "metadata". You can export your stereo .wav file or mp3 file and then open it up in a program and edit the data ( track name, artist, album, genre, etc ). I know you can do this with WinAmp. There use to be a lot of programs that burned CD's that would let you do it....

Re: Boss Katana 50 MkII issues
I do not believe you can do this with a windows machine. It only lets you use one asio device at a time. On a mac I believe it is possible. You can try to select your Alesis as the asio device and then see if you can select the Boss as the recording input device but I do not believe it will work. Th...

Re: Komplete Kontrol Groove Recording
First off, I know nothing about the Komplete Kontrol keyboard you are talking about or the Sample Grooves. But it sounds like it is sending out audio instead of midi. Try adding an audio track and see if it records the Sample Grooves that way. Also does the Komplete kontrol act as an audio interface...

Re: Recording Amplitube 5 Expression Pedal
Start reading the Mixcraft 9 manual at page 214 ( Track Automation ). When you open an automation lane you should be able use the drop down menu and the parameter for the Amplitude Wah should be available. Then you just arm the automation track also with the audio track and start recording and the a...

Re: Would like some VSTs to play with similar sounds (song reference)
Have you tried the included instruments in Mixcraft? You probably could come close to a lot of the sounds with them. Some of the more expensive or popular ones are Sylenth, UVI Falcon, Omnisphere, Sound Spire, ETC. Here is some pages that have some free Virtual Instruments to check out. https://www....

Re: Mackie MCU Pro vs Behringer X Touch
No, you cannot use the rotary encoders for anything else but pan with Mixcraft. Every DAW is a little different. For instance with Studio One or Cubase you can use the rotary knobs for plugin controls, etc. Also the funtion buttons are programmable. It all depends on the programmers and their implem...
