Re: mixcraft pro studio 6
Mixcraft 6 works without issues in Windows 7 64-bit. However, Mixcraft 6 does not load 64-bit plug-ins. No worries - the 32-bit version of EZDrummer 2 works just fine for me in Mixcraft 6 on my Win7 64-bit machine. More good news - Mixcraft 7 is coming out later this year and will support 64-bit plu...

Re: EZDrummer 2/ EZMix 2 in Mixcraft 5
It looks like you either don't have the correct vst folder identified in Mixcraft preferences, you don't have the 32-bit version of the plug-ins installed or the files are being ignored. Mixcraft 5 is a 32-bit program and will only load 32-bit plug-ins. Also, Mixcraft 5 does not support VST3. Theref...

Re: New machine, Mixcraft 6, crackly playback
Vibrant Audio, I just cut the buffer size in half (so it's now 8192) and there seems to be some improvement. Does that makes any sense to you? Having to tweak the buffers and buffer sizes (up or down) to get acceptable performance is normal. Once you find settings that work for you, you're set. And...

Re: Future Plugins
Here's a good rundown. It's older, but current enough: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/nov10/articles/64-bit.htm The bottom line is that access to more memory, especially when you're 64-bit all the way through, will improve performance generally when you use vst's with large sample libraries. But CP...

Re: New machine, Mixcraft 6, crackly playback
I am not really suggesting you dump your current laptop and get something else. But if you want to look at other computers, you might start here . The options for what and where to purchase are endless (as are opinions on what one should buy). I didn't realize that you are already using an interface...

Re: New machine, Mixcraft 6, crackly playback
My preference would be to have a good card built into the computer. I can still return this computer. Can you advise as to how to find out if a particular machine has a suitable sound card when shopping for a laptop? Laptops are notorious for cheap motherboard-integrated sound cards. I've had bette...

Re: New machine, Mixcraft 6, crackly playback
My guess is that the sound card in your old computer was better suited for recording than the sound card in your new computer.
Have you tried an ASIO driver instead of Wave or WaveRT?
Also, it may end up that your best bet is to get an external audio interface and save yourself a ton of headaches.

Re: Possible Bug Report?
Use the \ key not the / key. Export to 24bit wav with 'Use File/Tag Information' and 'Mix Each Track To A Separate File' selected. Got it. When you use the 'Mix Each Track To Separate File' option, each Mixcraft track name is automatically appended to the name of each file. So, if you use some inva...

My wife and I were actually watching the original broadcast of this with our 7 year old daughter. It's usually tame. Generally entertaining. Probably G to PG rated. We ...

Re: Possible Bug Report?
I can't reproduce that error message. No matter what characters I put in the track name in Mixcraft, I can still mix down. Obviously, as stated above, invalid characters aren't allowed in the actual filename - but that's not what you described. I even tried overwriting a wav file that I had open in ...

Re: Master Track Meter
In Mixcraft 6, the meter is dBFS. Over 0 is clipping. -18dBFS is about 0 dBvu. Notice that's where it changes from green to yellow. The faders, on the other hand, show how many dBvu you are cutting or boosting the signal as it passes through the channel. Another resource here: http://therecordingrev...

Re: Mix Down To MP3 and Burning to CD Need Help?
Hi Duck, You have a few options if you want to burn a song to CD or make mp3's: 1. Upgrade from Mixcraft 6 Home Studio to Mixcraft 6 for $40 2. Burn using the free ImgBurn or InfraRecorder 3. Convert to MP3 using MediaHuman or Audacity or even online at Zamzar or AudioFormat Hope that's helpful! :)

Re: Woohoo! Screen redraw issue! (AKA we found some bugs!)
I can also duplicate the bug on my Win XP Pro SP3 machine. This bug has similarities to a bug (#4465) that I reported 2 years ago. Under certain very specific circumstances a section of the screen does not redraw correctly. As I think we all know, these kinds of bugs are really non-critical. I see t...

Re: Tascam DM 4800
I have a Tascam DM-4800 with a TASCAM IF-FW/DM MKII FireWire Option Card. It provides 32 channels into my recording PC and 32 channels out, no problem.
Using 'ASIO IF-FW/DM mkII' as my sound device.

Re: Woohoo! Screen redraw issue!
At first I thought maybe your machine was just possessed, based on the name of your project there. But I can duplicate the issue here on Win 7 64-bit. Here are the steps I use to duplicate: 1. Start Mixcraft 2. Restore down 3. Restore up 4. Press Alt-L until the scroll bar appears in the middl...
