Re: Drum roll... please.

Another option may be to grab midi with a roll in it. Copy out the snare roll from it, paste in a tweak? Maybe a midi for "tonight, tonight" by Smashing Pumpkins (if midi file exist). Always love Chamberlin's drumming on that song. I'm sure we can quickly list many other uses of rolls in c...

Re: Production fun, but the song could be better

Good tune. Well produced. Full field sound. Understand the apprehension in trying a new approach, keep challenging yourself.

I will have to look at the video service (rotor), seems interesting. Is it pretty limited? Too bad you can't a least diminish the site logo some.

Re: Tip for working with clipping music

Not sure I get this? It sounds like your suggestion is to mix with a low master bus gain level (-12?) and "comfortable" speaker output level? This would seem to give you a less accurate sense of the frequencies and balance? I tend to mix at -3 on master bus and my speaker output around 80d...

Re: No Output Tabs Showing In Mixcraft

Think your talking about how to set up you out device or Playback Device. Look in in preferences, sound device, on playback device pull-down choose the device you want (speakers). This will set this as you default playback device on you master buss. If you are talking about an output bus, then you w...

Re: Looking to recreate a certain sound..

Mistyped meant LP filter. If you listen to music produced in the 70's using analog recording, you'll here a distinct difference in the high freq's vs today's digital rock recordings. Doesn't make it better or worse, just the way it was due to tape. LP filter allows you to reduce some of the higher f...

Art isn't art unless it's shared... Sharing your work is a personal risk to your ego. I'm not comparing you or I to McCartney, but I suspect he has the same thoughts and feelings each time he puts something out to the public. It's normal. It's good. It's what drives us. Keep posting, keep growing.

Re: Looking to recreate a certain sound..

Ferox plugin, I'm just unsure of whether or not the version of MC I have includes it. Ferox is part of MC7, but there are several free saturation plugin available. I found this phreephuzz useful http://www.kvraudio.com/product/phreephuzz-by-lvc-audio/details . I used to like this one, but it at tim...

Re: RobertAllan EP!

RobertAllen Possibly you’re taking this a little too personally? And it’s understandable, this is your “child”. I used to think reciprocating was the answer, but this forum has a lot of poster just looking for praise/positive feedback and not giving back. Nature of our egos and self-entitlement. The...
