Re: Need advice on compression

Been using mixcraft and this Tascam audio interface for a while now (since MC4 first came out) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000MUO0MC/ref=s9_simh_gw_p23_d0_g23_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=1Z0RG27NDSPFEM999PDS&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938631&pf_rd_i=50784...

Re: No sound for some (most) Virtual Instruments...

For most of the instruments on MixCraft 5, when I try to make a virtual instrument track, no sound will play. The sound appears to be loaded, because it works when I use the 'Musical Typing' keyboard. how can I fix it? (I've already tried reinstalling and all of the sounds used to work.) Wow... thi...

I had a similar problem recently where all aspects of midi worked with existing midi related projects. But, I couldn't hear virtual instruments when creating a virtual instrument/ midi project from scratch.
Then the problem went away magically

Best Regards

Hi, Click on the View menu and select "Musical Typing." You can then use your computer keyboard as a MIDI controller keyboard. Can you record MIDI that way? I'm just trying to figure out whether you're having trouble getting a MIDI signal from your MIDI controller keyboard. Can you record...

Hi, Can you use musical typing to play any virtual instruments right now? Greg Hi Greg What do you mean by "musical typing"? This must be something I am doing wrong. Because a couple of those projects that work for me when I change the instrument for an existing track are projects that I ...

I should explain what I mean "from scratch". When I launch Mixcraft, I tell the "wizard" that I want to create a project using virtual instruments. Then I click on the little keyboard icon on the track selection to select the virtual instrument I want... I am not hand entering MI...

Hi Again.... I am now just getting back to doing some recording using Mixcraft 5. I was off doing other things to pay the bills I recently purchased the Alchemy synth and couple of their soundbanks and I was looking forward to trying it out. I am using an Alesis keyboard through a Tascam 122 USB ext...

I totally agree with thumbslinger, I dont think that the punch in feature is necessary. Whats wrong with starting a couple of bars back, dropping in when you feel comfortable with the riff and then just trimming the track back to the needed position. Works fine for me. If I remember correctly and i...

Unexpected disappointment

Hi everyone... Since the day I purchased Mixcraft 5 and updated to 5.2, I have been using it strictly for MIDI type projects. As can be attested to by my involvement with the EWQL issue. The other day I started my first "audio" project. And, much to my dismay, I discovered that MC does not...

Thanks Pierre...but unfortunately not...my casio non-vel keyboard has a transpose control for this purpose...but while the keyboard will transpose the instrument sound in itself, but the sound in the computer is the normal pitch for those keys. So that means your keyboard doesn't transpose MIDI data...

Re: transposing midi input

Is there a way to transpose the midi input on MC5...basically -1 so that a tune played in C sounds in Bb as you play it. I think i can see how to transpose a midi file that has been recorded... Hey Mixed I figured this out. Thought about it on my way home in the car tonight while listening to Jean ...

wow.... that's interesting...

I have transposed existing files many times in the past. I think you are asking to be able to do it on the fly. Sort of a negative capo. Right?

Pierre, For NI Kore expansions you would download their free Kore Player. The Player also has a lot of free sounds included. Ditto for Camel Audio. When you buy a pack from them you'd have to download their Alchemy Player. EDIT: Whoops! Scratch Elements from the list! It's been gutted. They've remo...

Hi again Rob....

I just went back and re-read what you said about the "soundpacks". If these are NOT full fledged synths, how would I use them and play them in a project? What would I "play them through" ??

Once again, thanks for the help
