When lowering tracks by selecting them all at once and then lowering the volumes, should sends also be selected and lowered to keep it all relative volumes? Or do sends always stay at 0db and lowered by the send knob?

As I understand it, that dead air is added as the tail for reverb or delay. It's really odd the way Mixcraft seems to work with tails, and there should be a tick option for not rendering tails. Highlight (select) all you midi drum notes, then right click and go to 'Note MIDI Channel' then change the channel for the notes to channel 10. You have the drum track channel set to 5 and midi drums need to be on channel 10 for a standard GM midi file.

That should work for you...

Might seem like a stupid question but are you sending the correct outputs from your mixer to the PC?

I've been using Avast with Win 7 and MX 7 and 8 working perfectly... Avast does have the occasional popup trying to tempt you into upgrading from the free version. Just add MX to the exclusions.
