Re: Green marker

Greg,

Yes I do mean the playback cursor.

I am trying to drag it to an exact point on my track where I can then hit the split button to slice a section of audio accurately. I used to be able to do this in MC5.

Green marker

Hi, Normally, for the type of selection I think we're talking about, you hold down the left mouse button and drag a highlight, then release the mouse button. When you say that Most of the time highlighting activates when I don't want it to," do you mean that things are being highlighted when y...

Re: Mastering Chains

I found that Izotopes other product called Alloy, was giving me even better results than Ozone. I had been sitting there A/B ing them for several hours making adjustments to both plugins side-by-side and listening in a direct comparison instantly, and no matter what i did i could not get Ozone 5 to...

Re: Mastering Chains

Hi, Some great replies. I am afraid I am still very keen on Ozone 5 after trying it out. I like how everything is in one place and also that there are some great presets. Also, I must admit, it looks great! Still can't afford it however. Can you buy it used/second hand? Will they allow a licence tra...

Re: Mastering Chains

Well to be honest, anything that comes standard with MC6 i have found to be inadequate for any serious mastering; experimenting with effects chains (Limiters, eq's, etc) will get you some way to achieving a somewhat different sound, but whether that could be deemed professional mastering quality is...

Re: Mastering Chains

I'd like to know as well..... :) Hi, After I posted my question, I didn't have any replies, unfortunately. However, since then, I have been trying to create my own. My best one for the music I compose, is made up of the following:- 1. Classic compressor. 2. Acoustica EQ 3. Classic Master Limiter 4....

Mixing Down

Hi everyone,

When mixing down, for the best quality, should I use mp3 or WAV?

If WAV is recommended, which bit setting should I use? If mp3 what kbps setting?

Thanks

Thomas,

I asked them a couple of weeks ago. They said that they don't do a demo. However, you can hear audio clips on their site.

Re: "pumping" dance bass?

Hi, Mixcraft doesn't have a side-chaining feature, but you can use plugins to do side-chaining in Mixcraft. There's one called Twisted Lemon Sidekick4 and people on these forums do it with other plugins as well. Greg Greg, I find Sidekick4 difficult to set up on MC6. Can someone please give a short...

Re: Instrumental composed in Mixcraft 6 using Garritan Orche

Hi Sunil and Glynn Welcome to the world of GPO4 Sunil. The song sounds great. Not bad at all for a first "shot". You said you are using Mixcraft 6 build 183. Where did you find that? I thought build 180 was the latest and greatest. Glynn, Sunil is right. You can make ensembles within GPO4...

Re: Instrumental composed in Mixcraft 6 using Garritan Orche

Glynn, I have made it a practice now to freeze tracks(even for a mini project). The performance is much improved when you freeze tracks. Thanks Sunil, I thought you had just started doing this after buying GPO. I understand what you mean. However, freezing tracks does slow up the start up time for ...
