Re: Can I take individual tracks from my Tascam analog multitrack recorder and add to Mixcraft 8
I have done similar tasks and will add a couple of thoughts from my experience. ... Excellent advice, Mark. I have read about the "clapboard" technique but made the assumption there wouldn't be any way to add something to the existing tracks, and (if I remember correctly) most four track ...

Re: Can I take individual tracks from my Tascam analog multitrack recorder and add to Mixcraft 8
The following suggestion assumes that your four-track cassette machine can play back any two tracks you choose, one panned hard left and the other panned hard right. If that's true, transfer the following stereo pairs into Mixcraft: Tracks 1 and 2 Tracks 1 and 3 Tracks 1 and 4 In Mixcraft, line up t...

Re: Can I take individual tracks from my Tascam analog multitrack recorder and add to Mixcraft 8
... Is there a way to sync the tracks so that they all play at the same time? I believe that you will have to do this manually in Mixcraft -- unless you can find a four-track cassette machine with four line outputs, one for each track, and are using an audio interface with at least four line inputs...

Re: Pitch correction?
From what I can tell, you upgraded to Mixcraft 8 Recording Studio (no Melodyne) rather than Mixcraft 8 Pro Studio (includes Melodyne). If that's true, then I suggest you ask customer service to change your upgrade for the difference in price. It appears that you haven't even tried Melodyne yet. If y...

Re: ASIO drivers
For me the path of least resistance turns out to be something that sounds complicated but really isn't. Depending on your ASIO-driven interface, there may be two options. (1) Use the audio output on your motherboard for YouTube, etc. and merge it with the monitor output from your interface using a s...

If you can't make Rewire work for this, an alternative approach is a virtual MIDI driver. I use Loop MIDI https://www.tobias-erichsen.de/software/loopmidi.html but there are other free ones that also work. This solution might have more latency than Rewire, but for your purpose that might not matter.

Fair enough, but I suspect that once you started using TouchOSC or similar software on a tablet you wouldn't turn back.elaw wrote:It's hard to find a tablet for the < $15 the devices I linked above cost!

Re: Omni Sampler question
Not that I found. What you can do, though, is set the Release knob (under Envelope) to minimum. Then, when you release a key, there's no decay and that sample stops immediately. But if you keep holding one key down while pressing another key, you will still get both sounds.

EDIT -- I was wrong about this. This issue has not been addressed in Build 412. Is it just my imagination, or does the new build address this problem: http://forums.acoustica.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=18343&p=110908 where .dll files that are not VST plugins (used to) get rescanned everytim...

Performance panel round robin
Would it be feasible to add the following feature to the performance panel as an option? If a track has multiple lanes, the alternate takes are played back in the same manner as round robin sets of samples in a virtual instrument. In other words, on each repetition of a given set, one lane is select...

Two questions: (1) what is the distance between microphone and sound source? (2) where are you setting the input level control on your interface?

Re: Headphones
Open back for mixing. Closed back for performers while recording, to reduce bleed into their microphones, and also to reduce distractions while performing. In that situation, these factors outweigh the better fidelity of open back.
