Re: Mixcraft 7, Home, Or Pro?

If it's in your budget, at the very least, I'd say get Mixcraft (Standard). The Home Studio is the "cut-down" version limited to 16 midi and audio tracks. The other two are identical except for the bundled FX and instruments. Here's their comparison chart: http://acoustica.com/mixcraft/mix...

Re: Where can I buy Mixcraft 6?

Hi David,

I can't imagine there's a lot of difference between system requirements for 6 and 7. Have you actually tried the trial for 7?

Re: Adding Vibrato to a vst Harmonica

Yeah, unfortunately it's very difficult to get realistic vibrato with any virtual instrument if it's not "scripted" in.

Chris Hein's Harmonica (requires full version of Kontakt) does this, and is extremely realistic.

Re: It's always something - SFZ issues

Things to try:

After uninstall, go to C:\Program Files (or Programs Files x86 for 32 bit) and delete any leftover sforzando folders. I'd check the Program Data folder as well.

Try reinstalling with "Run as Administrator" to make sure it's giving everything proper permissions.

Re: Good Until Mixing Down

This is a common "gotcha" that hits new users of every DAW, not just Mixcraft. It seems logical to render straight to MP3, but there are a lot of good technical and workflow reasons why you shouldn't. There's a fairly recent thread here that goes into those reasons -- definitely worth a re...

Re: Out Tascam us 2x2 audio interface is recognized, but not sending a signal to daw.

Am I correct in assuming that you're new to recording -- or, at least with Mixcraft? If so, I would suggest starting over and taking it one step at a time. Are you sure Mixcraft is properly installed and the components of your recording setup are connected properly? Try to get somewhat familiar with...

Re: Build Update/Upgrade failure for needed feature.

Hi Mike,

You can always download the latest build of MC6 from here:

http://acoustica.com/mixcraft/support-o ... rsions.htm

Once you've downloaded it, close anything else that might be running, then run the new installer. When finished, reboot. That should do it!

Re: Mixcraft 7 error right after I downloaded it!!!

Sounds like a corrupt download. Download MC again using a download manager. Plenty of free ones... If you use Firefox I recommend DownThemAll which is an extension/plugin. Uninstall Mixcraft. Reinstall the newly downloaded MC by right-clicking and choose Run as Administrator. It's a good idea not to...

Re: Mixcraft Pro 7 crashes frequently

I'm assuming you have the latest firmware/drivers installed for the Saffire... If so -- If you've always had these issues, sounds like the problem could be your Firewire chipset. Go to Device Manager-IEEE 1394 Controller and check the name of the Firewire chipset. Some chipsets work just fine, while...

Re: Pan Laws

The only pan law settings I'm aware of in other DAWs allow the user to choose a different pan law. I'm not aware of any "tools" per se.

In any case, MC6 has a set pan law - IIRC, the most common one. Greg or Dan (or was it Eric?) stated as much in a post a while back.

Re: USB Interfaces

I read that USB ports are organized on busses. If you have other things on the same usb bus (worst: a hard disk), it shares the traffic, which would inevitably lead to drop outs. Try a different USB port. ... Yep, this is important. If you follow this one point, there is absolutely no reason to be ...

Do the Feds know you're on here venting? It's gotta be against the rules of the Witness Protection Program. Anything short of that, and I'd say you're being just a tad hysterical. Fill out a support ticket and explain that you just paid your last installment for MC7, however, you've just moved, and ...
