Were any improvements made to the score editor in MC9?

New PC in the UK
I've finally decided to buy a new PC to replace my ailing 5 year old system. For all sorts or reasons I've decided to buy an off the shelf offering. I've looked at systems from Scan and Quiet PC. Has anybody got experience of these or any other suppliers that might be worth a look? I'm assuming ther...

Re: What are your top 3 feature requests for Mixcraft 9?
I only really have 2 : 1. Bring the score editor up to scratch or add MusicXML import I'm a lousy keyboard player but I can write standard notation. MC's own offering is inadequate. The standard workaround is to write in a score editor, export to MIDI then import the MIDI into MC. This has many shor...

Re: NEW PC TIME!
I don't mean to hijack this thread but I'm in the market for a new PC and I had a look at mydigitaltech's stuff. I notice that hey have several Xeon based PC's. My knowledge is very patchy when it comes to processors but aren't Xeon's used for their superior multi-threading abilities compared to i7?...

Music Tribe
I've been invited to join "The Music Tribe Community". Does anybody know anything about this. Looks like it might just be a marketing tool but on the other hand it might be worth a look. I'm not sure

Re: Static problems, question about what to purchase to fix it...
I had a similar problem a few years ago and it turned out to be conflict with my video card causing frequent, momentary dropouts that sounded like static. Could you try a test recording via your onboard soundcard to make sure it's definitely the interface? Mind you, if you definitely want a new one ...

Re: Needing a new interface
OK "rubbish" might be a bit strong but more than one person is saying they have bad drivers and latency problems and that struck me as odd if these same devices were being unconditionally recommended when they were current. How could AI's with bad drivers and poor latency performance ever ...

Re: Needing a new interface
It's funny reading this thread. A few years ago (before Gen 2) Focusrite was being enthusiastically recommended for any enquiry about interfaces. Now they're rubbish!

Re: Mixcraft 8 and Sibelius 8
I think what you're seeing is that Sibelius' own "MIDI engine" is far more capable that the basic MIDI spec (the same is true of other programs like Guitar Pro etc). As mick says, what we really need is for Mixcraft to be able to import Music XML files but it would probably also need other...

Re: Best Way To Input MIDI
Hi, If you haven't already done so, you might check out the tutorial videos on editing MIDI: Mixcraft 7 MIDI Editing . Greg Greg, Thanks. I've checked them out. Looks like the piano roll is the way to go - and maybe getting some piano lessons Later posts mention writing in Musescore then exporting ...

Re: Best Way To Input MIDI
Thanks Chibear.
No, I've never used the piano roll. It's the only alternative to keyboard input or importing MIDI files that I'm aware of but I was wondering if there might be a better alternative that I've never come across before I invest a lot of time trying to get to grips with it.

Best Way To Input MIDI
I rarely use MIDI because my keyboard skills just aren't up to it. My natural inclination would be to write out what I want in notation (as I'm fully au fait with notation) and have MC interpret it. However, I can't get on with MC's own notation feature (I've moaned about it in the past on the forum...

Re: How can I force a note to be part of the Treble staff?
But perhaps there should be a special award for taking it to the level of insulting an entire user base....... Not exactly a helpful way to make a case. I assume that comment is aimed me for my comment about musical literacy. On re-reading I can see that it could be seen as a slight against a...

Re: How can I force a note to be part of the Treble staff?
Yes, this has been a major shortcoming in Mixcraft since it was introduced. MIDI just doesn't carry enough information to make exporting to a scoring program and re-importing a feasible option - you end up spending more time trying to sort out the errors than it would take to learn to play keyboard ...
