Re: BOSS DR880 MIDI ISSUES
Well, solved this finally. The drum machine had to be set on an empty song to follow the midi clock from an external device. Just wish they would write manuals properly, instead of assuming that we should know about things.

BOSS DR880 MIDI ISSUES
Hi all, this isn't exactly a Mixcraft issue, but I feel some of you could have came across it. When I am triggering the DR880 drum machine via Mixcraft, from my Yamaha PSREW400 keys, with midi, the Boss machine will start and stop all good, but it starts out of clock sync with the midi signal. It ju...

Using Mixcraft VST'S
Hi all, probably a very basic ask for many of you, but is it possible to use more than one VST at a time, as long as they are on different midi channels driven by an external keyboard controller? My Yamaha sends midi drums out on channel 10, and bass on 11. Would it be possible to use say, studio dr...

Re: How do I make my recordings sound good through speakers?
My fav method is to do a rough mixdown, then head out to the car stereo to see how it sounds there, also, find a set of decent quality ear buds and listen from your DAW, if they dont sound too muddy and can handle the highs without breaking up, it is a good start. Good monitor speakers are great to ...

Re: Newbie, not recording, record button stuck
Hi there, which DAW are you using, I assume it is Mixcraft, but which version. Could be a number of reasons, but some more info would make it easier for someone to guide you with it. The record should not be illuminated until you click on it, something not right with that. Do you have the most recen...

Re: Adding drums to a guitar track
Yep, you really need to put your drum track down first whilst playing along with guitar, then once you have the drums ''to tape'' so to speak, you can keep adding your guitar track until you are happy with it. No matter how good of a guitar player we all may be, without at least a click track or dru...

Re: ZOOM R8 AS AN INTERFACE TO MIXCRAFT
Many thanks, but the R8 doesn't show up on interface startup like your R16, must be a different set up machine. No blinking of the interface display etc. You say you contacted Samson Support? I might just try Zoom and give them an earful for all my trouble which may have been a time waste, as an ear...

Re: ZOOM R8 AS AN INTERFACE TO MIXCRAFT
Thank you kindly Ian, you have confirmed what I suspected all along, that the thing will not function as it is claimed to. Until someone comes along and say that they have one working as an interface, I wont waste any more time on it. Cheers, Geoff

Re: ZOOM R8 AS AN INTERFACE TO MIXCRAFT
Hi all, I have really hit the wall with this. Unless I can get confirmation from someone that they are using the Zoom R8 as an interface, and preferably to Mixcraft, I would have to say it will never work. When preferences is selected, the Zoom and UR242 units are listed under Asio drivers, that's a...

Re: ZOOM R8 AS AN INTERFACE TO MIXCRAFT
Hi all, nothing tried with this has worked. I tried the Zoom in card reader mode and it works fine. I even tried a different cable to the original supplied, same result. I am starting to think that this Zoom R8 will not work as an interface with any DAW. I even installed Reason, which came free with...

Re: What does a direct in box do and how can it help static issues...
A direct box, also better known in the live music industry as a DI box, is used mainly where you have to run mike cables etc over a distance. Where a normal guitar cable has only two wires, if you plug that into a DI box, it converts it to what we call a balanced system where 3 wires are used. These...

Re: ZOOM R8 AS AN INTERFACE TO MIXCRAFT
Thanks Greg, the driver version I have is the current one from the Zoom site, as per the link you posted earlier. I will try your new idea though.

Re: ZOOM R8 AS AN INTERFACE TO MIXCRAFT
Thanks guys, but I checked the drivers and I have the latest drivers already. Disabled my computer soundcard, and the UR242, still Mixcraft tells me it cannot play sounds via the Zoom device. It also tells the same when trying to record. Tried using the devices default settings, no joy. Even tried M...

ZOOM R8 AS AN INTERFACE TO MIXCRAFT
Hi all, cannot get this Zoom to work with Mixcraft.Downloaded the most recent drivers for it. It shows up under preferences, as available. I can select the Zoom R8 Asio driver, but nothing then displays in the default playback and record devices. It just remains greyed out. I can then go back to my ...
