Re: Fixing time discrepancies
Just be super, super careful / conservative when wielding the quantize function, one of the things that makes a drum track played by a drummer "feel" so much better than a drum machine is those minute timing "errors". If you get too aggressive with quantizing a midi drum track, y...

Re: how to stop mixcraft from lagging/stuttering.
I agree, it's likely a driver / soundcard issue. However, if you have not already done so, I highly recommend going through the "Optimizing your PC for Mixcraft" thread in this forum. It can also help you with performance issues like this.

Re: Overhead bleed....
If you are truly pressed for time, it's going to be faster for an inexperienced engineer to re-track than try to fix a mess like that. You could *try* putting an EQ on the overheads and notching out the most obnoxious guitar frequencies, but you're going to color the overheads in the process. Mostly...

Re: Is this the meaning of "industry standard?
Pro Tools is a fantastic piece of software, anyone who intimates otherwise is misinformed or willfully ignorant. It is also an order of magnitude more complex than Mixcraft. I don't even see the two as competitors. If you have never used DAW software before or are just starting out as an audio engin...

Re: Automatic save with a difference?
Oh, I know I can do it with file names, and I do. I'm simply thinking in terms of something more integrated and automatic.

Re: Automatic save with a difference?
This might go better under Mixcraft 7 suggestions, but it follows this general thread. What I would love is to see branching backup save points. The best way I can explain this is with an example. It functions off the existing Mixcraft feature of saving a backup of the project file every time it sav...

Re: FIY: using a hardware vocal harmonizer reamped with Mixc
I have used a similar technique with my Digitech Vocalist Live Pro. Do be aware that there is in fact a latency happening. It may not be obvious to you, but it was to me. I solved that problem by simply visually lining up the incoming harmonies with the existing vocal.

Simpler: While the song is playing, the play button becomes a "Pause" button. If pressed, the transport stops right where it is and stays there. If you instead press the stop button, the transport goes back to whatever point you had started it from previously.

Re: Send Tracks
Or, better yet, add an option to show ALL the send knobs on every track . . or let us choose which ones are displayed . . .
The general idea of better visibility on sends is certainly one I can get behind.

Sound like a pretty simple pitch shift with perhaps some saturation on it.

Re: Mixdown muting track at specific point due to vst Crash
I was having a VST crash during mixdown that I solved by closing the interfaces for all the VST's. I still had the VST's active on the tracks, but I didn't have their interfaces open. Dunno if it will work for you, but it worked for me.

Let me be the first to put in a plug for XLN Audio's Addictive Drums. It may be the best thing ever. Works fantastically well in Mixcraft. I also use a couple packages from Drums on Demand (Rock Essentials 1 and 2 MIDI version) in conjunction with Addictive Drums. What I like about the DoD packages ...

Re: Send level
I thought that the responses so far are pretty solid. There are reasons you might want the send level to go out higher, thus, it's possible for that to happen. In any event, what you should be doing is using the knob to obtain exactly the level you require - no more, no less. Just like you don't sla...
