Could it be that the 32bit is Green & the 64bit is Red, only guessing as I don't have both installed, however you can change the Icon by right clicking the shortcut, choose Properties then change Icon. There should be a choice of 4 or 5 I believe.

Have you checked preferences in the recording section for "Allow Duplicate Recording Inputs"
which will allow any number of tracks to be armed; the default is "Do Not Allow Duplicate Recording Inputs".

Then you can select which channel you want to record on in each track.
