Hi there, I'm not sure what caused this problem - we'll look into it - but it is extremely unlikely your hardware is actually recording your data at 192,000 Hz. Most built-in computer sound cards can only record at a maximum rate of 48kHz, and then Windows simply copy the data to give you a higher s...

Hi there, You mentioned that you are plugging into the microphone input with a stereo cable from the headphone out of your amplifier. Please make sure you are plugging into the Line In, and not the headphone input! The headphone input in mono, amplified, and not designed for line level signals (i.e....

Hi there, There is an ASIO driver issue with the MBox and Mixcraft, that causes Mixcraft to freeze when using the MBox. However, we've fixed the issue, and the next release of Mixcraft (Build 90) will work perfectly with the MBox. The Mic input is the 'left' input of the MBox. You'll need to arm you...

Mixcraft's instruments are not designed to be general purpose samplers; you can't add your own drum sounds, etc to them. However, there are a lot of great software samplers, some of which are very inexpensive or free. Just Google 'VSTi sampler' and you'll be able to find many sampler instruments tha...

Actually, what you want to do can be done - though its slightly awkward to do it. You can overlap multiple MIDI clips on top of each other, on the same track. These multiple MIDI clips will be sent to the same instrument instance. So, you could record one clip on one MIDI channel, then another clip ...

Yes, please consider raising your buffer size to 50ms or more, and make sure you have the latest build of Mixcraft, available at http://www.acoustica.com/mixcraft.

Let us know how it goes!

I've been in touch with the author of JamStix 2 and Mixcraft now works properly with this instrument. The next version of Mixcraft, build 89, will have this fix, and it should be out early next week.

I recommend purchasing a Presonus Firepod. It is not terribly expensive and will let you record up to 8 microphones onto 8 different tracks at the same time. In this way you can mic up the drums, arm each track in Mixcraft, hit record, and have every individual microphone record to its own track. Th...

For now, there is no way to merge multiple clips together into a single clip. However, that will come in time. Can you explain what you mean when you say you can "hear" multiple clips? The clips are just MIDI data, and the same MIDI data gets sent to the virtual instruments whether your cl...

Ron, Its easier than you think. Start a new project, and turn on Auto Beat Match mode. Then drag in your MP3, and Mixcraft will ask you if you want to switch the project tempo to 98bpm. Say yes! It'll also ask if you want to switch to the detected key of the music. Say yes! Now your project will be ...

Jim, please check that you have the latest version of the beta. I just ran through the test as described and I can confirm that in no way was the .mx3 deleted as part of saving the mx4.

Please contact us at betazoid@acoustica.com so we can assist you further.

Thanks!

Hello, Thanks for your message. To put it simply, MIDI does not contain audio of any kind. When you hook your computer up to your keyboard via MIDI, all you are transmitting is information about which keys you have hit, not the sound of the keys you have hit. This MIDI information can be used to pla...

Sorry, this is not true - Mixcraft will never delete your Mixcraft 3 project.

Try it -- save a test project in Mixcraft 3, load it in Mixcraft 4, save it as an .mx4, and see if the .mx3 is still there.

Perhaps the original .mx3 was accidentally deleted some other way.

Hi there, Your Mixcraft 4 project files would be saved as .mx4, and your Mixcraft 3 project files would be saved as .mx3 files. There's no reason why Mixcraft 4 would save over an .mx3 unless you specifically instructed it to do so. Regarding the weird error messages - what are they, and what build ...
