Re: Huge Problem With Mixcraft 6
Yeah, even though your machine has pretty good specs, 20 tracks with a lot of individual instances of effects running is a lot of system load. On a dual core with 4G ram I can approuch about half that before I have to make some tweaks, beginning with: 1: Some fine tuning of my buffer/latency setting...

Re: Major problem has arisen in Mixcraft.
I saw a bumper sticker this week I MUST have.
"Its not that I'm old. Your music really does suck!"

Re: Major problem has arisen in Mixcraft.
Sitala, the acidized thing has nothing to do with file compression really, and is a whole other subject. My understanding of it is that its a method to effectively have the sound clip "tell" the DAW some basic information such as tempo and key. It was originaly a Soundforge, then Sony thin...

Re: ((( Dream Vision Recordings )))
Yep, go play with it, its fun and educational!I'm assuming that as you turn the EQ frequencies up and down, while the song is playing, you will see a difference in the spectrum analyzer.

[quote]my advice? on the tabla recording track, open up the Voxengo spectrum analyzer effect. It shows you what the frequency response is.......[quote] Allright, Shatley707 gets my vote for tip of the week! And the screen shots make the tip golden! I use these methods regulary, often to quickly pinp...

Re: Major problem has arisen in Mixcraft.
I am not sure that Zardac was making this mistake, but some of the other responders in the thread(s) clearly were. What Zardac sounds like to me, with all due respect to him, is someone who reads something somewhere, takes it to heart as an absolute fact and becomes irrationally hyperfocused on it w...

Re: Major problem has arisen in Mixcraft.
This has to do exclusively with using the library of sounds you have access to with the Mixcraft Not entirely exclusively, but you get the idea. One could also create their own samples or loops and render them to a compressed format, or could use samples or loops from an outside source that had fil...

Re: Major problem has arisen in Mixcraft.
Uncommon in my experience and research. He has repeatedly stated he strongly prefers files with no compression whatsoever. No .ogg, no .MP3 Like I said, thats fine, and I respect his position. I just would hate for people to take this as gospel and get the impression you cant get good quality result...

Re: Major problem has arisen in Mixcraft.
I really didnt want to start a flame on this or come across as rude or blunt, so I have up until now let it go. But after reading the frequent posts about this (and a few other things) I was concerned about the impression it was making on new and inexperienced Mixcraft users and readers here. Kind o...

Re: ((( Dream Vision Recordings )))
Glad you are having such fun. Its funny that a project I have been working on, (Struggling with an outro to be honest) opens with an attempt at the sound of the sea, waves and surf and birds. If you seek criticism, intended as constructive..... (Hey if you dont just stop here!) Its easy to forget th...

Re: Mx5+6 crash within minutes: No midi presets can be saved
For what its worth, I have never had any crash or project loss problems with Mixcraft, version 4 through 5.2 anyway. I have experienced a few "MIDI note hang" events rarely, but thats a MIDI thing, I dont think its up to Acoustica to fix a decades old MIDI standard problem. The one excepti...

Re: Question for users of EZ drums or similar
Understood. I am interested mostly in using it for writing/demos, and rounding out my "one man band" capabilitys, while accepting that I am no drummer. Most of my stuff is just for fun anyway, my highest aspirations are in learning and entertaining myself at this point, not necessarily som...

Question for users of EZ drums or similar
I am looking at ez drummer, and some similar vst programs to round out my DAW package a bit. Given that my interest is very much oriented to realistic sounding acoustic drums and not electronic or synth sounding "drums", could anyone comment on what programs they use for drum sequencing, w...
