Mixcraft EDM Guide

Hey there. I made a guide to production of Dubstep, DnB and House in Mixcraft. The guide was made because I got requests in the comments of this video to make a tutorial. I've found there's a significant lack of this kind of music showcased for this DAW, so I thought I'd share some knowledge. I am b...

Re: What are your top 3 favorite free plug-ins to use in Mixcraft.

Oatmeal, a nice synthesiser. It isn't worth using without a skin though lol. I rarely use it anymore because I bought Synthmaster, which does everything Oatmeal can and more, but it's a great free plugin. Emissary by Ignite Amps. It's great for a clean guitar sound. I find Shred Amp Simulator that c...

Re: Lounge Lizard Is Making Distorting Sounds

I tried lowering the plugin volume very low but as soon as I boost it up again through EQ or the compressor I get the distortion again. Another thing i've noticed is that it's not just the lounge lizard VST that makes this sound but also other VST synths. Oddly it seems to be mostly the rhodes synt...

Re: Lounge Lizard Is Making Distorting Sounds

If I could find another VST that sounds almost identical or very similar to this i'd switch. Try these: http://www.genuinesoundware.com/?a=showproduct&b=27 There's a free, similar plugin by the same company, I'm not quite sure of its name, but have a look around. Edit: Just found the free one I...

Re: Lounge Lizard Is Making Distorting Sounds

Could you solo the Lounge Lizard track and see if the distortion remains on mixdown? If so, you could upload it to a service like [url}Soundcloud.com[/url] or Clyp.it and then share a link here so that we can get an idea on what you're talking about. I personally have an idea on distortion you're t...

Re: Mixcraft 7 Pro...good for podcast recording / mixing-editing?

For the kind of simple features you're looking for, Mixcraft is perfect. Any extra features you could get from the more expensive Studio One wouldn't be of any use to you anyway.

Re: omnisphere 2 or izotope creative bundle

I would probably pick Omnisphere. It's just so versatile, I feel like the iZotope plugins would only really make crazy sounds, while Omnisphere can do any sound.

Can we please get an improved automation list before the update?

I've posted this on bugzilla, however it's been listed as a suggestion rather than a bug, which I can understand. However, it really is almost a deal breaker for me not being able to scroll in the automation list. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, I'm talking about selecting automatio...

Re: Midi Keyboard Recommendations

As long as you get something with velocity sensitive keys, a pitch bend and a modwheel you'll be sweet. Another thing I'd recommend is something with a few extra programmable faders, these can be very useful if you want to control more than one paramater while playing (maybe filter cutoff and the no...

Re: No sound from keyboard

I had trouble connecting any midi to Mixcraft a few years ago when I got my first keyboard. Nothing would work, eventually I just reformatted my computer, and never had any other problems :?

Re: MELODYNE COMING IN NEW PRO STUDIO!

try experimenting with mixcraft under max load in 7 compared to 8. You're saying that 8 is going to be less cpu usage than 7? M Dunno about necessarily less cpu usage, but better performance. Less time loading plugins, processing audio, etc. Edit: What I mean is, if you run a very busy, automation ...

Re: MELODYNE COMING IN NEW PRO STUDIO!

As a midi user I have yet to find one solitary reason to jump from 7 to 8. In fact all I have had so far is grief trying to work out the new multi timbral routing and Acoustica appear to have no intention of posting a requested video, one image with a few arrows pointing here and there doesn't do, ...
