Re: Here And Now original "lockdown" song

Super job as usual! :D What's your setup these days, your recordings are all very professional! :D thanks Tom! I wish I could agree that they're professional! but, I get a lot of enjoyment out of it tbf, so that's good. My setup? Err, well, nothing fancy to be honest. Mixcraft9 PS, reasonable windo...

Here And Now original "lockdown" song

Well, they say that boredom stimulates creativity!? Well, not for teenagers, but I've written and recorded another retro "lockdown" song on the trials of modern living. Quite enjoying the new Mixcraft version tbh. Hope you get chance to give it a listen, and ask any questions, or comments ...

Re: Pick Up The Pieces - original song

Hi NIcky, Just listened to your song, very nice. Great vocals and your voice reminds of a singer who was going a few years ago...can't for the life of me think who it is though lol. Yes, nice arrangement and well produced. Top job. Steve. (Frankel) Thanks Steve! means a lot that you took the time t...

Re: Pick Up The Pieces - original song

Super! Extra special when the chorus kicks in! :D :D :D :D :D thanks! appreciate you taking the time to listen! so many folks give up before the 1m34s part when the song kicks-in a bit more, 2nd verse - drums and bass.... I suppose that's one rule of production, songwriting really, get something mu...

Pick Up The Pieces - original song

hi folks Appreciate any feedback you can give on this one, I quite enjoyed using MC 9 pro to record & mix, benefits being (not limited to): - better orchestra strings (they now seem to use "TB Reverb") - nicer mixer, the "Gain" knob being useful! - track and clip automation c...

Re: Live mixing in the studio (not 'out there')

do I have to fully automate and then just wait while it produces a fast, silent mix for me to listen to afterwards? well, the automation you program in to the tracks... that will all operate (realtime) as you press play on the mix? in other words, you've got a bunch of tracks? you've got your vocal...

Re: Portion of mid on the side?

[quote="Drdish007"]Hi, You may be able to do it in mixcraft. I was looking at a circuit on a ms microphone from paia. You have 3 mic's, one center, one left, and one right. It uses 5 signals. 1 - left, 2 - minus left, 3 - right, 4 - minus right, 5 - center./quote] That definitely works for...

Re: Portion of mid on the side?

I suggest trying the free bundle of 33 plugins by MeldaProductions. They mostly have a list of processing options via the button on the right (see screenshot). just click the button to see it Thanks Ian, I've got the Melda ones, will take a re-look. I am still hopeful for something a bit more Mixcr...

Re: Portion of mid on the side?

Just a thought. Assume we work with mono tracks. We usually place vocal, bass, and some drum parts in the middle. We pan guitars, horns, keyboards etc. left or right depending on what we are trying to accomplish. So if we create two submix tracks and put the middle tracks in one and the side tracks...

Re: Portion of mid on the side?

I *think* it might be possible with the following plugin chain, which seems to be explained here using: >> MSED set to encode <insert plugins here eg. EQ, delay etc) MSED set to encode but given that mid becomes left, and side becomes right, we need plugins which can just operate on either L or R in...

Re: Portion of mid on the side?

I should add (and I'm by NO means an expert) that I think mid/side processing is totally *where it's at* in mixing and more importantly mastering. Limiter no.6 has a great mid/side compressor, and also a very subtle mid/side peak limiter. The guys over at the Logic forums talk about the benefits of ...

Re: Portion of mid on the side?

There is a freebie plugin MHORSE and MHORSE P3 that does sidechain processing. Plugin was developed by Terry West who does some fine work. Google it and try it out. :D https://terrywest.nl/equalizers.html Thanks! those *do* look interesting.... (not free?) but pretty powerful, looks like a good mid...

Re: What are your top 3 feature requests for Mixcraft 9?

1. channel strip stuff eg. trim, compressor, HPF/LPF 2. some great skins (I know this makes me sound lightweight, but GUI design is a biggie and always will be for the enjoyment & willingness to put in the long hrs), and also many areas have a different look/feel or are more outdated than others...
