Original track, using Mixcraft, Axe Fx II and Superior

Post by cshedd »

Hey all, this is a new track we recently finished. This past year we geared up and switched to Superior Drummer 2 for percussion and the Axe FX II for our guitars. Really enjoying both... after a few months of struggling to get the hang of them of course. Hope you guys like it. Any feedback is very welcomed. Thanks in advance.

I like the beat and the vocal. How did you record the vocal? What did you use? :D

Thanks for giving it a listen!

We use a Blue Reactor mic for the vocals, run into an mBox. I usually arrange and mix the music, send the WAV over to the vocalist, he does a local mix and sends his raw wavs to me for final mix. A little unorthodox, but it works for us. :)

Hey guys, just an update. Today we released our self titled record for streaming and download via soundcloud. This record has been out a little over a year now, it preceded the recording linked above. Good tunes for you to jam out to, but also a very cool before and after to A/B different hardware. This one was recorded and mixed using Mixcraft 5, a Line 6 Spider III direct into an MBox for guitars and a Rode mic into an MBox for vox (not sure what pre he used.). Overall very happy with how it turned out given the budget, but also very pleased to see where we're headed.

Also, on that same Soundcloud profile, we have our first record, "Oh, Hungry Earth", which was recorded and mixed in Mixcraft 3, with the Spider III, leafDrums, and not sure what mic. You can definitely hear the de-evolution of our knowledge and hardware the further you go back in time. Haha
