Rise - Herb Alpert

Post by outteh »

Decided to do an instrumental instead of killing you folks with vocals. This one took a while to get the trumpet right. Very intricate when working in the piano roll. Played the JP-90 bass through a Silverface Bass Amp sim to get that that old school thump. Careful when the horns kick in! :D
Mark, I think the refurbished Advent's helped on the mixing/mastering of this one!

How far you have come Tom! That's awesome! Its a headphone happy mix for sure! (late night listen.)
I dont know if a lesser system will carry that bass, but it sure sounds good on my Sony's! Love the light touch of various fills, pads and strings, and I cant believe the horns. Midi triggered samples?

Nice mix Tom! I sense the pride on this one. Well deserved!

Now, I have to go find an old post here..... 8)
Stay in tune, Mark

Wow, Tom, very impressive. I was going to make jokes about 'Elevator Music', but this deserves better than that :)

My only slight criticism is that the horn phrases seem to end a little too abruptly, maybe a very short fade or pitch drop to finish them but that's just me being picky. You have to take the ups with the downs (oops sorry  )

I can't wait for you to get onto some Santana ;)

It certainly pushed all my buttons (oops again !!)
