Saxosphere

Post by deekaybe »

A tune I made to play with the free “DVS Saxophone” vst plugin.
Choir and percussion are loops from Mixcraft's library.
The rest is midi with vst synths from MixCraft.

I really liked the piece UNTIL the saxes came in. It was really good and it's no knock on you, I just haven't heard a good free sax VST. I usually bury them as backup instruments so they don't stand out.Good job!

I can see your point Y.I.
This gives me an idea: is there a saxo player out there who would like to play this tune on a real sax and recreate this work together with me?

I am curious as to what you are using as an input device?

To my ears the "problem" is the harsh attack on each not. If you use something that is velocity sensitive then often you can get a more natural sound from something that is blown - like a sax.

Obviously no substitute to playing a real sax - but we can only learn so many instruments!!

I actually didn't think it was bad at all - I do think you should persevere.

Cheers

A real sax may be what this needs... it was a good sound, and the over all song is great. If you could nail down a real sax, now that would be KING!

"The Saxophones" from the geniuses at SampleModelling.com. Pricey, yes, but man oh man! They are VERY realistic sounding.
Thanks & God Bless,
