Hardware to VSTi?

I am thinking about purchasing a microkorg or a roland soon, and I was wondering if when recording in mixcraft, will I be able to record what I'm playing as a vsti (so I can go back and edit notes) or will it be strictly an audio track? I'm looking for what is shown in the video

Hey there and welcome!

When you set up a track and add a vsti, whatever instrument it is (piano, synth, drums etc). They will record as midi and you'll have a midi track that you can edit to your hearts content, just like the video you posted. It's a blast recording something and having it play back with different sounds! lol

I have a Korg Microkey 37 and find it perfect for my very basic midi needs.

Hope this helps.
