Sustain pedal plays an E note

Hi all,
Once in a while, we'll get a report that a customer's sustain pedal plays a note (usually an E) instead of providing sustain. In most cases, this is due to the use of a cheap MIDI-to-USB adapter cable. The remedy is to buy a better MIDI-to-USB adapter.
Here's an example of an adapter that had the problem: USB IN-OUT MIDI Cable Converter PC to Music Keyboard Adapter Cord. Getting something like an M-Audio USB Midisport Uno would probably be the way to go.
