Midi Confusion

Post by tjweger »

Hi...I use mixcraft and use presonus AudioBox iTwo which only has one set of midi in/out. The problem I have is having two midi devices....a Yamaha keyboard and a Roland handsonic for drumming. Im not interesting in using them at the same time, but would like to move one to the other without having to remove and reinsert midi cables to each. Hopefully, the I've attached clarifies what Im after. thank you!

First off why don't you hook your keyboard straight to your computer using the USB connector on the back? That will take the midi straight into the computer without having to route thru the Presonus and free up the midi connections for the Roland. If there is some reason you do not want to do this you will need a usb midi interface like this-

Or this -

They come in a lot of different sizes like 2x2, 4x4 and 8x8.
