I did try a new cable. And it seemed to work at first. But eventually same result. It's not in a hub, but I will try another port.

Update: I tried a different USB port. Same deal.

I do notice that it only happens after I turn it off. So, maybe, for the time being, I'll just leave it on whenever I use it. And only shut it down at night when I shutdown the PC.

Hi,

You could go into Device Manager, uninstall the driver, and then allow it to install again.

1. Right-click on Windows start menu.
2. Select Device Manager.
3. Select Sound, Video and Game Controllers.
4. Right-click on the Keyrig 49 and uninstall it.
5. Restart your computer with the keyboard attached and allow Windows to install the driver again.

I use the M-Audio Key Rig 49 with Mixcraft 9 Pro Studio and Windows 10. Works fine. :D

Could be a corrupted driver, and uninstalling it and installing it again would check for that.

This seems to be working. I followed your instructions and turned it on and off a few times without big, bad blue rearing its ugly head. One step I was missing before was to make sure it was turned on before opening the device manager. So, it never showed up in the list. Once I added that simple step I was able to uninstall/reinstall it. I must be the Mayor of Simpleton. I'll keep testing it to make sure it's solid. Thanks guys!
